Donation Question

Post by TheNewGuy » Thu Jul 22, 2004 8:39 pm

Heyas - I looked to donate today, but paypal wants the 3 numbers on the back of my credit card. Unfortunately, my ass sweat has eroded those numbers and I can't see them. Is there another way to donate or should I call my bank and see if they can't give them to me?

You can set up paypal to withdraw from a checking account (pretty damn sure).

If your bank gives those numbers out over the phone, it's time for a new bank. :)

Try one with "truly free checking."

Those numbers are required more and more frequently, to prevent credit card fraud. The theory is it's easier for someone to steal only your CC number, than it is to also get that code. Silly theory in my opinion, but I guess to a limited extent (carelessly discarded receipts/bills) it makes sense.

If you cannot read that number on your card, you should ask your bank for a replacement card.
