greeting and question

Post by elkcit » Sat Aug 31, 2002 3:26 pm

am new to this program but have came here from reference on the Xylobot boards and became interested. Am unsure based upon the info i have seen on the boards here if this program actually works for the NewUI with knowing where to click on stuff liek inventory slots etc.

please forgive if this has been answered, i tried to do a search but am getting odd "object expected on line xxx" when doing searches and even when typing this message (every bloody letter i have to hit no to debug request)...

yes i know as of the 25th that MQ was not NewUI compatible, but no mention of if that has changed with new release.. sorry...

Back to the OLD Problem here.

I am trying to use the 0831 release of MQ and even though it loads fine and has the usual lCON sitting in the System Tray, launching EQ and getting into a player character will NOT bring it up in the game.

IE: No 'Macroquest is Active' message and nothing about it is working in game. Yes, the Desktop Shortcut is pointing to the right Folder and version so it is not that.

Sigh. Back to MANUAL PLAY once more.

salutations,
once in game, if no 'macroquest active' comes up, do /ec . and see if the 'no valid command /ec' or whatever comes up. if it doesn't, mq is loaded. if that doesn't work goto a deserted area and do '/em saved.' if you don't get the macroquest active thing, do /ec . again and if mq STILL isn't loaded come back.

I am told the CLIENT VERSION in the INI file mey have the wrong time-stamp in it. I will correct that manually and give it another try. Something about the seconds-displayed not matching what the code expects to see.

Salutations,
that is correct. Some clients are time stamped with :27 while others have :28 as there seconds. Try setting clientoverride=1 (i think thats the default with the ini in 20020831)

That was it!! The timestamp is wrong in the 0831 as well, it seems.
clientoverride does not default to 1, and has to be manually changed.

Once that was done, MQ loaded and is now running correctly.

Again, for those having the same problem:

EQ. INI file needs Clientoverride=1

Enjoy!
