Does anyone currently know if different UI's slow down frame rate? I do notice a difference from Solaria and Vert. Vert seems faster and smoother.
Does anyone else see this also? Does anyone also have a Vert modified version that works? I currently am trying to fix the one posted in this forum but it's not really working correctly,
Thanks

My assumption is the busier your UI, the more info it displays, the lower the frame rate. I know adding a lot of MQ tags in definately slows things down.

Nearly every window in a UI is an entity to itself (there are a few XML files that are used for defining graphic textures used in multiple windows but that isn't typically a problem). So if you want a buff bar or target bar, you can pull those XML files from any of the MQ enhanced UIs and use just those windows.
Also, as mentioned, the more MQ enhanced labels you have, the more noticable the frame lag will be since MQ has to extract and push that information every frame.

Could you explain what you mean by the more enhanced UIs?
Could you name a few that were fairly basic?
and how would i say extract the buff and target bar from Solaria and use it for Vert?
If you did this, i'd really appreciate it

I'm honestly not saying this to be mean, but you really need to go read up on how the UI's work before you come here. These are the sorts of questions that should be asked at eqinterface or a similar site. If you have no idea how to mix and match files to get your own custom UI's, adding MQ to the mix is just gonna make things worse for you.

Aye, no offense taken, usually i'll just mix and match from what I can grab, but seems that the actual code is what is messing me up, i can get the stuff to work, but atm I can't see the actual buff bar nor the songs atm hehehe :) that's only prob

Another thing to note is that you can screw up a UI and it will still work, but the frame rate/lag can be huge. I noticed this some time ago while I was modifying "normal" UIs.

I've seen that too. Poorly written XML will do it, especially if it is one of those files where someone tried to write something, it didn't work, so they just moved the coordinates way off screen instead of deleting it. I've seen a few of those. Bunch of stuff being displayed where no one can see it, cause the programmer was too lazy to remove the junk code.

I've taken note that I always get a warning when reloading my UI. There's something I have to change, and quick.
Also, Noticeable frame rate lag.. yeah, I use about 29 labels and my framerate goes from 50 (default UI) to 20 (custom UI with errors and labels.)

I go from about 30FPS to 20FPS when I just use the SOES's special cast bar modification that puts the # of current casts near the names. Going from normal Solaria to Solaria-E (mq enhanced one) I don't lose many FPS at all, maybe 5-6. I will have to try default -> Solaria -> Solaria-E tonight.

it doesent matter what size the UI is, it just depends on what it needs to use to work (which is most often why the more decorative ui's are slower)
also MQ labels can freeze your frame rate afew

Old thread.
With the update to mq2data, framerates have never been better.
