$tan, $searchspawn(next/prev).

Post by daerck » Sat Jan 24, 2004 6:07 pm

$tan seems to be bugged. Returns pretty bogus values.

And a question regarding $searchspawn(next/prev).
The Documentation lists that $searchspawn accepts the same options as /target. With /target I can cycle through all spawn with the /target next, however $searchspawn(next) will only return the id of the closest spawn, and $searchspawn(prev) the target furthest away. They don't actually cycle through to the next target when executed again. Any chance that could be fixed?

$searchspawn isn't screwed up. What you have to do when doing a ,next is also provide ,id:# of the last spawn.

Take a look at my posts in this thread, it'll give you the idea.

Edit: Nevermind, reread what you said and it works like you said with id:<someid>. Disregard the stuff below (except maybe the redundance of $spawn and $searchspawn).
$searchspawn(id,next) always returns 0 for me:

Code: Select all

Sub Main
   /declare CurId global
   /varset CurId $searchspawn(npc)
   /echo First Mob: @CurId
   /echo Second Mob: $searchspawn(@CurId,next)
/return
Output is
First Mob: <someid>
Second Mob: 0

What does work however is $spawn(id,next)

$spawn and $searchspawn are somewhat redundant in that matter but one is working and one is not.

The Documentation lists that $searchspawn accepts the same options as /target.
I did read it, however the paragraph about $searchspawn only lists examples, no real syntax. Forgive me for not figuring it out a syntax that doesn't follow the "normal" rules by looking at those 4 examples given in "TFM"

Anyways thanks to ml2517 I figured it out.

$tan remains broken and should be looked into.
