DPS/HPS.... Never Say Die macro?

This might have been brought up before, but i thought i'd rehash the topic =)

Is there a way to calculate within, say, 3-4 hits what a mobs max damage per hit is going to be?

I was thinking that you could set up a scale of damage based on several factors... level, class, type of mob (giant/dragon/efreeti etc.)

Using that scale, you could make a little heal/attack macro that would only attack when you could outheal the damage you're taking. It would heal you up until you can take a hit or three while attacking, then repeat, or if the mob misses a few hits, then you could have a bot deal damage intelligently.

Heal/heal/nuke/attack, repeat macros don't seem to work all that well... but someone out there prolly has it all set up anyway.

This would only work when soloing, prolly best for SK's. Lots of little applications for something like this =)

That would be awsome, it would also be very complex, and well beyond my skill at numbers crunching. I seem to remember a similar idea, and one I liked a bit better some time ago. About a way to calculate DPS (as you mentioned in your title) and heal or do other commands when appropriate.

Would make the boted raid even easier, though I haven't done that for a long, long time. One mass banning was enough for me I think.

You could probably parse the attack speed within 2 hits, and then all you would need is a table telling you "if mob is lv 62 and is an insect shadowknight, damage per swing is going to be XxX" Add 200 to the damage check just to be safe (then maybe do a subroutine to watch for HT).
