$spell(available) available??!

Had a quick search but couldnt find anything relevent. Does anyone know if its possible to 'check' if a spell memmed into a gem is available, i.e. if it's recast timer has expired and it's no longer greyed?

EDIT: Okay found it should be /if n $char(gem,"Ice Shock")!=-2.... but $char(gem,"Ice Shock") always=-2.... possible bug in $char(gem)
