"Hails" not working

Post by Xam » Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:52 pm

Hey guys -

I'm just returning to the game, seems like quite often any in-game 'hails' don't work will MQ2 is loaded, I need to camp out, start it up again w/o MQ2 loaded, do my hail - then load MQ2.. obviously thats not practical..
What am I missing here?

Trying both 'h' for hail, and also typing 'Hail, npcname...

Thanks in advance!

First, using 'H' for hail, check your keys defined in options to see if 'H' is defined for something else. I did not know you could just type 'Hail, npcname' to hail it.

Thanks..

under 'chat' category... 'say hail' = H.
in macroquest.ini there's nothing specific for H or h under aliases.

And ingame, when I hit 'H'.. I can see it output the correct hail to the NPC (who is targetted), but it has not affect while MQ2 loaded...

again, if i camp out and back in w/ MQ2 loaded, still broken.
If i camp out, unload Mq2, come back in it works fine... wEIRD!

Is there a file with MQ2 hotkeys i need to check other than macroquest.ini?

No, but are you invis? A lot of the new NPCs don't see invis so you have to drop it while you hail.

Definitely 100% not invis ;)

p.s This is happening on 6 toons at the moment consistently, on many different npc's in multiple zones.

It wouldn't be an alias for your h key, it'd be a bind. Check your MQ2CustomBinds.txt and see if you have one in there for h? Or try unloading the plugin and check (/plugin MQ2CustomBinds unload).

Just unload one plugin at a time until hail works then u know which one is doing it...

I had the same thing happen with one of the MQ releases about 7-8 weeks ago. Was a mid release build and something was borked. Hails worked for some mobs, but most of the quest mobs wouldn't work. Ended up reverting back to an older version of MQ until EQ patch forced me to update, and then everything was fine.

Xam - are you playing on live? test or beta ?

Thanks for suggestions.. looks like MQ2Radar was causing it, will do some further testing, but hopefully that's it.

Good to be back ;)
