Massive Bannings?

Post by Shamrock » Fri Apr 06, 2007 4:14 pm

I have been told the GMs are on a witch hunt and there have been massive bannings since the last 10 hour patch!! Anyone else heard this or <<God forbid>> experienced it?

And they all scoffed at me when I called it the MQ detection patch.

People who are getting banned, that I've read reports from, all seem to have been doing both incredibly stupid things and with the wrong tools.

Those that get banned, suspended or rollback recently was for using 3rd party for GHOSTKILLING and WARPING, or getting advantages, ie: items etc from GHOSTKILL MOBS.

This is NOTHING related to MQ but to HACKERS SITE. So your little warn us about MQ detection will still make us laught, they just hit hard on HACKERS and well im HAPPY for what they GOT!

It's always funny, every 5-6 months their is always someone that step up and say Oh they added MQ detection in their CODE and fun his i never heard or found out someone that get banned using plain vanilla MQ.

My post was a question, not a warning, because I heard flutterings of a panic, and wanted to know what had set them all running. I comb the EQ boards pretty frequently, and hadn't seen anything.

Frankly, I'm tickled pink that they're slamming the GK and Warpers down. Although I "laught" a little on the inside when you said they only "hit hard on HACKERS". It's just a matter of degrees.

As s0rcier said: People don't get banned for using a map and the other passive features of MQ2. You'd have to be very careless, very often, to even draw attention to yourself.

It's the AFK macros, the Warp, GK and other ACTIVE hacks that get people banned. It's not rocket science. It's not super sophisticated code (Puhleeze this is Sony we're talking about here. Get real!) It's other players getting tired of the hackers ruining the game for them and reporting them. It's looking at logs and seeing AMV soloed by a monk. WTF?

Detection code doesn't get players banned. Players get players banned. Either others or by their own stupidity

Post by Wayn » Sat Jul 07, 2007 1:11 pm

I only started using MQ2 after this last 10 hr patch. i haven't heard of this hunt, but the only reason i got MQ2 was bc im tired of running as a rogue, i want gate. i hav MQ2splooge as my gate feature. i havent gotten to use it yet bc it crashes my game everytime i try to use, but i will use it often once i ge it working. but i wont be dumb about it... this is the first thread ive seen current since 2005 lol.

Wayn, did you know that your rogue can get a pet with MQ2. Its a secret command the devs put in that they didn't tell us about. It even interprets normal text, no commands to memorize. Since /pet is an EQ command, the MQ2 command is /peti, for PET Interface. Heres a list of commands I've found so far that work:

/peti "Activate Macroquest2 Pet Mode"
That turns on pet mode for non-pet classes.

/peti "Summon level 75 mage pet with Macroquest2 PetInterface"
That summons a pet of the given level mage pet.

/peti "Charm MobName with Macroquest2 PetInterface"
That charms the nearest MobName.

/peti "Deactivate Macroquest2 Pet Mode"
Turns pet mode off.

Try those out! Trust me, they'll make your EQ experience SO much more fun.
