Losing UI - 4/19/05 Zip

Post by dedpoet » Tue Apr 19, 2005 9:01 am

I didn't use the 4/18 zip, but I see from the release thread that 4/19 fixes a hud issue. The only reference I have of a hud issue is a thread here which was locked. My issue is a bit different.

Using the 4/19 zip, if I minimize my game window and then tab back into it, I lose my UI, including the MQ chat window. It looks exactly like if I had pressed F10 - hud is still up, character is still in game. Pressing F11 will then toggle the fps indicator on and off, but the rest of my hud always stays on. Everything seems to be working ok, other than the display - the character responds to commands, and I can sit and camp out just fine. I have to exit the game completely and restart it to get my UI back. This is repoduceable across several characters and 3 boxes, both with and without EQW. Unloading and reloading multiple plugins doesn't change anything. Starting without MQ2Hud loaded doesn't change anything.

Accidentally clicking "Enter Tutorial" on your level 1 bazaar mule while carrying 700 stones of weight during testing rocks!

Same is happening to me.

If the EQ window loses focus, the UI completely disappears.

You can get it back by typing /loadskin <uiname> 1 though.

Guess I stick with the ghetto version - I box too much, that would kill me :(

Just a reminder to recompile all your plugins...

I always clean and rebuild the entire solution when there is a new zip. Are you not having this problem, dkaa? I'm at work now, but tonight I will try starting with no plugins at all and loading one by one. I already tried unloading anything I thought relavant to the display with no luck.

I wouldn't have posted a zip with this problem...

You guys all use the same UI?

Same thing here, I run 3 windows, they load fine, as soon as I switch between them all lose hud. Everything is clean and recompiled as usual, latest zip.

p.s. default UI

I'm using a slightly modified version of infiniti. Can any of you guys who have access to the game right now and are having the problem load up with no plugins and then add them one by one to see if that's the source of the problem? I won't be home for a few more hours. I only run one plugin that isn't readily available on these boards and have already eliminated that one as the source of the issue, at least for me.

Nope, not using the same UI. I recompiled everything from scratch also.

Maybe it has something to do with CB's Hud update. I will test with the MQ2Hud that comes with the zip.

I use EQW and default UI. I don't minimize that window though . . . I just change to do whatever on top of EQ.

Seems to be something with MQ2FPS. I get the same thing with that plugin loaded but not when it's unloaded. I took the latest from the forums and recompiled (had an old version before) but it still does this.

I'm having no troubles like this at all - I use a competely custom UI, no MQ2FPS plugin
