Cronic For Hire

Post by cronic » Fri Feb 04, 2005 8:24 am

Hello fellow cheaters.

I have recently decided to contract myself out for custom plugin development. I'm taking requests now for any type of plugin. If you have an idea, and it's worth something to you, shoot me an email (cronic@cronic-web.com) or a private message and let me know just what it is you're looking for and we can try to work something out.

The price would be dependent on the job, how much it's worth to you, how long it would take me, etc. so I have no fixed rate to assert at this time.

You are certainely allowed to request anything, but in general, if the plugin would not be acceptable on these boards, I will not be able to create it for you (warp etc). If you aren't sure then go ahead and ask anyway. The point of this work would be to enhance your gameplay without causing any sort of trouble.

If you've got an idea, feel free to give me a shout.

Thanks,
cronic

Note: Payment would of course be for time spent and nothing else

Something that might sell.....

ShowEQ like functionality that tracks spawn points as well as the mobs that spawn at those points. The plugin learns the respawn timer and spawn locations and is able to display the next time to spawn via mouse over.

Spawn locations is something that MQ2Map does not track or display.

So, once a mob is killed and it respawns... the plugin learns that spawn point. Once the mob that spawns at the learned point dies and respawns again, the plugin learns the respawn timer. For those camps where we clear the spawns over and over, this would be very handy as it would allow you to keep track of the repawn timers of many spawn locations. ShowEQ does this and is one big reason why players continue to use it.

Spoken like a true ShowEQ addict going through withdrawals :)

Of course, so am I. I miss my separate (much larger!) display, and spawn timers.

On that same basis, one function that I really liked with ShowEQ that I don't see here is the zonespawn list.

With SEQ you could sort the spawn list by NPC Name, Spawn Time, etc etc. The spawn time one is especially useful for spawns like Quillmane. Now that SEQ is out of commission, it has really slowed down my camping of that spawn ;)

Sort the spawns by spawn_id in MySeq and you will have your Pegasus Feather Cloak within an hour... if you know what you are doing ;)

What's best way to get that sucker to spawn? A guildie wants some help from me, but it's been years since I helped with it (and I've never played a mage). From what I remember, it had something to do with killing everying in sight around paw, but I'm not sure if that's right.

Do share. =P

I don't want to completely hijack cronic's thread, so here's a kick in the right direction. The info on this spawn is posted on Allah's and it's actually correct, for once. Poke around a bit and you'll find it. It's the long post that deals with the mobs that path through the spires and klling their respawned PH's.

I have a suggestion for cronic.

Is it possible to make the in-game map display a larger area?

Not just scale the image, but to actually display a larger portion of the map.

As a happy, and returning customer of Cronic's - I can tell ya he's got the gift. I highly recommend his services. His time is worth the $$.

I like the idea that his 'special' plugins aren't posted to the general public to use. His service includes updates as needed. No more searching the boards and hoping one of you geniouses finds the new offsets...I have a one on retainer for the plugins I use.

Keep up the good work brother.

Yeh, my own UI just defines a much larger area (roughly 2.5 x 1.5 the size of original default one). It's scaleable without problems.

Well, actually I mis-stated when I said "not just scale".. I meant "not scale at all". Like, show more detail, not just making the pixels larger.

Which is what i meant. It's still 1 for 1 pixel size, but the the map scaling works fine in any render area size was my point.

It looks like the EQ client-server data exchange is no longer compressed. So that needs to be optioned out and any other op code changes need to be figured out.

I am betting that SoE will be using the same data tranport/compression used by EQ2 soon.
