Help

Post by CraZBlnd » Sun Mar 27, 2005 9:00 pm

Hi there!

Let me start this post by saying I am sooo new at this and mostly dont know what I am doing.

That said....

I love the look and apparent functionality of this macro. However,
I cant seem to get it to respond for me.

I downloaded and have all the proper files, I can initialize the macro in EQ, and is "says" its working (ie: no error msgs, or mismatches or anything) and yet, I get absolutly no response from the macro itself.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, or what I have missed?

Thanks!

It starts out by default in pause mode. Type:
/rdpause

This is mostly a raid type issue, and you could toggle the hits mode on or off for raids and what not, but that's a bit of an ugly situation.

Maybe check an array of NPC's in range of the shammy to see if any of them have the shammy targeted or the like? I could see that getting pretty slow though. Checking to see if the MA1's target had the shammy targeted might work, but then an add mauling the shammy would be percieved as canning...

Anybody else have any ideas, or see any holes in my logic?
Having others hits turned on is a small price to pay for a semi-intelligent shammy heal code :) You can always put the hits in another window and minimize it. I had hits turned on for everything ever since they gave us the opportunity to make multiple chat windows in EQ and never really had lag/spam issues raiding or not. If your PC can't handle a little bit of extra text going to it, you've probably got bigger issues than just worrying about DruidBot performing well. My method would take a lot of testing to code right, but I think it would be awesome to see working.

The NPC array thing would be nice, but you'd have to do a lot of mob assisting in order to make it work worth a damn, and you'd be left with a situation similar to the /assistheal code where the target is constantly ping ponging. Plus, it would look rather suspicious to the casual observer. I don't mind looking suspicious if there's a good reason, but constantly assisting mobs on the off chance that your shaman might get hit once or twice in an XP grind session seems a little excessive. At least with assist healing I saw a good amount of healing happening when there were mobs in the area.

Using MA1's target is a bad idea since if it's a shammy or necro getting mauled it's usually because of an add and not the MA target.

Ok, tried the RDpause thing, and I got some stuff back.

I put it in once, and I get

[MQ2]Raid druid is no longer paused
[MQ2]Raid druid is paused

Its automatically repausing me as soon as it unpauses me.

Any idea why?

Thanks so much for the help

My guess is it has something to do with either the event misfiring, or the toggle getting hit twice. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen an event double fire like that though. Just change the RDPause entry in your ini to 1. Yes, 1 means unpaused..... I R smart.

/sigh

Ok, A_druid_00, I managed to set it to unpause, and do indeed get conformation saying that raiddruid is running, and unpaused (btw, it is double firing, cause now its saying paused, then unpaused if I type /rdpause =)

Unfortunatly, I still get nothing from the macro. No respons at all. It wont self buff, it wont do buffs, it wont assist, or nuke or heal....nothing.

Any ideas?

<---so lost

Thanks a ton again

MY only other suggestion at this point would be to RTFM for DruidBot and set up your ini file. If you don't tell him what to do, he does...... nothing!
