Noob Question: Subroutine Main not found

Post by Norz » Tue Dec 14, 2004 11:46 am

Using VS.net to compile and windows 2000pro os.

First off i copy and paste code of macro im trying to get running from the macro depot forums into the release/macro folder saving it with a .mac on the end. Load up eq and mq2 then type /macro nameofmacro and it returns subroutine main not found /macro ended. Even with the simplest of macros i get this output. I've tried testing some of the macros that come pre-installed with mq2 and they seem to work fine. Also have recompiled mq2 using nmake after copy/pasting into the macros folder. I know i'm missing a simple step but cannot seem to figure it out. Would very much appreciate a bit of help on the problem im running into.

Thanks
Norz

You're most likely trying to run a .inc as a .mac. There's a slight difference between the two, and any inc file can be easily modified to be a mac with a few minor tweaks. Look at my feedme.inc and feedme.mac for an example of the main differences between a mac and inc. Or even wait4rez.inc vs. wait4rez.mac

It's either that or you're really clueless and are trying to use a plugin as a macro.

Since I have no code to look at, that's all the help I can give you.

hrm . . . how bout a link to the macro that you are using . . . you know . . . cause I really wasn't planning on testing out my psychic powers today. OR, even better, a copy of the macro that you are actually using . . . cause we can't look at your computer.

A druid is right though, it is something simple. We just can't give you a definitive answer till we actually see what you are trying to work with.
Reading . . . it's not just for me.
