how to keep map labels without npc name spam?

Post by Sexy Troll » Fri Sep 24, 2004 3:18 am

I want to keep the map labels cause it has stuff like zones names and (possible) spawns pointed out, but when I hit the label button it spams the hell out of the map with 100's of npc names. is there a way to keep map labels on without npc names showing? I dont see anything under /mapfilter.

This also removes the npc from the map, doesn't it?
As I understand the question, then it's only the npc labels Sexy want removed.

I think your looking for /mapfilter NormalLabels so you can keep the default stuff on map?

You should be able to click the labels button of the map to make it just dots (no text).

I haven't recompiled MQ2 and logged on yet so I can't say that is for certain how you do it but a friend of mine turns off the NPC labels on the map and leaves the dots and i think thats all you do.

That would be a great idea. Have an option to keep MQ labels off while simultaneously keeping the labels from the map file turned on.

I'm not sure what NormalLabels does exactly, but setting it to show or hide doesnt take the names off the spawns. Toggling NPC gets rid of all the 'dots', but I'd like to keep the spawns on the map.

yeah i would really like to see an option for this too. with all the new zones, i've found myself having to unload MQ@Map plugin, then click labels on, see where the zone im heading to is, then turn off labels and reload again. faster to me then turning npc and pcs off thenback on, but would be nice to have the normal labels always on, with everything else just dots (i seriously doubt anyone uses this plugin with npc labels on anyways so i dont really see the point of them :P).

I have custom binds for the "/mapfilter npc" and "/mapfilter pc" togglesassigned to the open and close square brackets keys. Works great for me.

However while I agree that being able to leave dots but disable the MQ2labels would be cool. I'd rather just have a bug free map. That said, I'm in no great hurry for a fixed map, it works "well enough" as is for now and I can be a patient fellow on map as long as the rest of my macro stuff works. :)
