MacroQuest Help Requested

Hello folks. I recently started to use MacroQuest, but I've been having some problems. I've downloaded the latest MQ, and its offsets (from the main page). I extracted the MQ, and put the offsets in the main directory of MQ. (Was that the correct thing to do?)

Now, I read the readme, got my client date fixed up, canceled my NEWUI into OLDUI, and launched up MQ, followed by EQ. When I got into my character, nothing happened. Just the same old OLDUI. I try doing some of the commands, such as /macro <something>, and nothing happens, except for a error message from EQ.

The Systran Icon is showing, but nothing from MQ works in EQ. I tried loading from regular EQ and EQW, but nothing works.

I'm trying to get the cheese macro to work (0-84 baking skill in 30 min is not bad.) Other than the cheese macro, none of the defaulted macros work either. I'm requesting for a way to get MQ to work, and instructions on how to get the macros to work as well.

I've browsed to Help forum for a couple hours now, and tried bunch of little things, but it did not fix my problem. Here is what I have for my INI:

UPDATE:

I got the offset 25-10 on the General Section forum, on the second page. So, I swapped it with the offset I downloaded from the main page. Now, when I try to load EQ with MQ, it crashes to desktop. However, when I load EQ by itself, it does not... I am very confused now

Are you using Windows 9x/ME? if so you have to install perl also. Do a search for activeperl for more info. Also the 10-25 offsets from the first page in the general forum is what you want to use.

I'm using Windows 2000, but I'll try the off-set from the first page this time. Thanks. More suggestions are welcome folks.

Dont get me wrong, but if you put the INI in the main MQ folder of the IRC release that would not be the RELEASE folder correct? The IRC version contains all the includes and other stuff. Actual working folder is RELEASE. Verify that the eqgame.ini there has correct updates.

From the look sof that ini file you are not using the latest .exe. Go to the downloads page. Click on the here word in the bit about beta versions and download IRC20021024.

Put the latest offsets into that and you should be sorted.

Just be aware that every time EQGAME.EXE is patched (there's a patch in 10 hours from now) new offsets need to be found, and on (seemingly increasing) occation a whole new release of MQ has to be made to counter problems that arise following patches.
