Macro Help

Post by NeedMacroHelp » Thu May 20, 2004 7:12 pm

Ok before I ask my question please dont flame me. Thanks. Can someone please explain to me or point me into the right direction of where i can find what exactly can be done with this program. I know there are some of you who are going to flame because I did not use the search button, but I don't have the time and the help would be greatly appreciated. Another question is would it be possible for me to create a macro to attack a mob(such as a guard) loot it(since a guards loot is always the same) when my bags are full(which is easy to find out since the loot is always the same) to go and sell the items. I'm sure there is probably some post out there explaining this if it is possible if you could point me in that direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Here. No Flamage. MacroQuest is not for you. Delete it now. You don't have time, sorry everyone needs time. You want a hunter mac, there are 2342 posts of those. You want an AFK macro, go die.

In your MQ folder there's a file called "readme.chm".

I understand that you want to know what can be done before you bother trying to compile, etc... Look at it this way: MQ has access to all the information you do, and then some. This being the case, if you have enough time you can program MQ to do just about anything you want. Unfortunately, you're gonna have to do a lot of learning on your own... this means using the search, looking at other macros, TONS of trial and error. If you don't have time to search, you're prolly f*cked.

The one thing you don't do is insult the people who spend a lot of time on the project helping those who help themselves.

You, Script Kiddie, can fuck off and get the fuck off these boards. This isn't the place for you.

Yup, you sir, can fuck off. You picked the wrong person to insult ;) Preocts does tons of nice macros around here.... You... want your hand held and your dick sucked....

Although Preocts's post might not have been clear to you, her message to you was accurate according to the information you provided when you started this thread. If you do not have the time to learn MQ, and you do not have the time to read a lot of posts on this board, then you do not have the time to use MQ either.

Noone here is going to spoon feed you, but if you load the Gerber's up on your own spoon, and start making airplane noises, someone might decide to play air traffic controller on your behalf. Many times, that flight controller has been Oid or Preocts, to name only a few.

Ok so maybe I came off wrong. I was just kinda not in a good mood because I had to study for exams tonight. I do like to learn to program. In fact, I learned Java(not script) this year in school. I have looked at the code and it looks somewhat similar. I have been looking through the readme and the commands, but it seems to me that it is incomplete. I do not want my hand held and my dick sucked, nor do i want to be spoon fed. How did you all learn is there a good thread with an explination or can anyone give me a quick rundown. I can teach myself but a little jumpstart would really be appreciated. If you feel the urge to say to fuck off, just say nothing. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I studied other macros and RTFM.

(Ok, so I posted a lot of inane questions on the plugins forum, but that was regarding plugins, not normal mq usage or macro authoring.)

I studied macros and read the MQ source code, for the parts I've learned. I've also read the boards, searching for specific items. When I could not find what I wanted, I would post as specific a question as possible.

If you don't have the time to use a simple search feature, how can you expect to write a semi-complicated macro or even take the time to compile the damn program? I mean hell, mq2auth.exe alone takes forever to run
You seem to have put about zero (maybe less then zero) effort into it. I just recently started using MQ. Hell, I can't even claim to have written my own macro yet, but using the search feature and looking at random macros I've been able to modify stuff for my needs. Atl least try or something (hell, maybe even post in the right forum for help with macros?).

Ok, I think you messed up from the start when you stated
I know there are some of you who are going to flame because I did not use the search button, but I don't have the time
I registered on the boards 08-dec-2003 I knew nothing. I have made 169 posts and started by taken snippits from other macros to learn how it works, I made my first "Own" macro on May 9 2004 with an enormous amount of help from Preocts and a few others, I have been flamed I have flamed and I have read flames but even now I still RTFM or SEARCH, EVERY single person on this board does this for fun, if the developers can give up their spare time for FREE and make an incredible piece of software to make an old game worth playing still then you can at least have the respect to read a few posts.

Start HERE read any of the posts at the top, open the post and read the instructions VIRTUALLY every macro posted has a description of what it does, you WILL find your macro, you WILL have to find time to read how it works and you WILL need help getting it to work, but i assure you every single post you make without doing something yourself or reading before you post will get you flamed.
