new $searchspawn?

Post by Dr. Blunderpants » Thu Apr 22, 2004 10:36 pm

I can't figure out where to put multiple search parameters, especially radius, in the new MQ2Data

For example:

Code: Select all

$searchspawn(id:@npcid,npc,loc:${Target.X},${Target.Y},radius:@Param0,next)
You're ugly.

${Spawn[id 1234 radius 500 loc 5,5].Next}

there's an example of something like this in the examples thread in announcements ;)

GOAL: I need to be able to find the next npc spawn within a certain radius in relation to a selected spawn, not my character.

Code: Select all

${Spawn[id ${Target.ID}].Next[npc radius 100].ID}
Translates into "The next npc spawn within 100 feet of the spawn with XXXX ID" but returns NULL.

My guess is that .Next[search] hasn't been implemented or something, which would be a cool thing to have.

Dont fret. spawn.NearestSpawn is added for next zip. It works the same as the NearestSpawn top level object does for you, but with the given spawn as the point of origin instead of you.

${Me.NearestSpawn[whatever]} will just get you the same thing as ${NearestSpawn[whatever]} and is actually coded to just give you the output from the Top Level Object since it's faster ;)
