Just started using mq2 and im having problems with an old hotkey i use often. its a simple one to target myself and cast a heal
Code: Select all
/target myname
|(where myname is my characters name) |
/pause 2
/cast 7
/cast 7
Using mq2 i can't seem to target anything in a zone except myself using the /target command. I know i can fix the key by using /target myself, /press f1 or /press tab, but none of these will work if im not running MQ. Anyway what im looking for is a way to either make the old key work again or a way to filter MQ so that when I use /target it will work as it does in EQ.

A simple fix:
Say, your (character's) name is

"Dummasss".
Try:
Code: Select all
/target Dummasss
/cast 7
/pause 2
/cast 7
Or, more consstructively, do a "/who all GM," and send threatening /tells to the first name that pops up...

Okay, okay, I take it back - "UnF--k you."
“If you play the WinXP CD backwards,
you get a satanic message.”
“That's nothing, if you play it forward,
it installs WinXP.”

I haven't tried this yet with an updated version, but if you /target yourname (where yourname is your character's name) you come up with There are no spawns matching: (0-100) any yourname.
I'd assume passing ${Me.name} to /target would do the same thing.
This may have changed in newer versions. I'm using the one from when Lax fixed /alt to make the AA abilities work again.
Patch tomorrow though, so that'll change :)

I always use
when I want to do exactly that.
Seems to be the best way IMO.

From what I understand of this post, EQ (without MQ running) supports "/target me" ?
If so... we should fix MQ's /target to accept "me" along with "myself".

perhaps i wasnt clear. im not trying to run a /macro here. im trying to use a simple normal eq hotkey(created within the eq interface) to target myself. with MQ2 runing the /target yourname (where yourname is your character's name) you come up with There are no spawns matching: (0-100) any yourname. however EQ without MQ2 does not recoginze the "/target me" or "/target myself" commands that i can use with MQ2 to target myself. what im looking for is a command that will work both when im running MQ2 and when im not. any ideas would be apperciated.

Uh.... Lax said it best, bro.
/target myself works. Just confirmed two seconds before typing this. If it's not working for you, grab the latest version and try again.

Ok a lot of confused answers here, the guy is NOT asking how to do this in MQ, he wants to do this in EQ when MQ is NOT loaded, why anyone would play EQ without MQ is beyond me :) This is a good example, without MQ loaded there is no /target option that will target yourself, only F1 just like /target won't target npc's it won't target you. So just Load MQ and use /target myself

Last time I checked, /target myself works without MQ2 as it was put in as a command-line version of F1.
