Emotes with garbage text appended with 3/1 version

If i go back to the 2-29 zip, it does not occur.

I know for sur eit happens with /bonk, can't remember what else i checked. both MQ and non-mq people see the results. It's the standard emote text with mucho garbage characters following (mostly unprintables).
