SourceForge CVS no longer being used?

Post by visar » Fri Jan 09, 2004 11:16 am

Hello everyone.

First of all, a huge THANKS to the developers of this great tool. I don't do as much macroing with it as I did when I first started using it, but the map enchancements (NPC displays etc.) are an endless source of joy for my toons that don't have tracking.

When I first found MQ, I kept my version updated by what I thought was the preferred way which was grabbing the latest version from the CVS repository on SourceForge whenever there was an EQ patch or I felt like checking out new features.

Seems like about the time that some butthead or another started posting precompiled binaries and pissed off all the devs, maybe there were also some problems with SourceForge CVS going unresponsive for a while and there was some talk about moving the repository somewhere else.

In any case, since December 18 every time I go into my CVS working directory and ask for an update, I get no new files in any of the directories including macroquest2. I've since been just downloading the zip file instead.

I don't believe for a second that the developers have stopped using version control, as important and useful as it is in the SW development process, So has the CVS repository been moved, or gone private for dev access only, or what? I did some searches but couldn't find any recent posts about it.

Thanks for any info that anyone can provide, and thanks again to the devs for their work.
