I never had an unattended macro for colleceting ground spawn, but I had a hotkey for making it easier to run around gathering by hand.

I hadn't tried it in a long time, tried it yesterday. The /itemtarget does the right thing and targets the closest groundspawn, but the /click left item does nothing. I also tried /click left target. Is there still a way to pick up ground spawn like this with a hotkey or macro?

I did this two nights ago trying to get an item that was behind a wall...
Just /click left while you have the item on target. That should work.
(make sure mouse pointer isn't over any buttons...I only used it once so didn't test it while hovering over any UI stuff, so you might want to center the pointer just in case.

There is a bug in an older copy of MQ2 that caused '/click left item' to clear your target and do nothing.
