Determing if a corpse belongs to pc or npc?

Post by blueninja » Mon Oct 20, 2003 6:33 pm

I posted a macro here that rezzes corpses around you and currently it will try to click npc corpses too. Anyone know how to determine if the corpse is a player corpse or not?

There is no way.
Already looked at this in the dev form and as of right now no one knows of any place within your eq client that knows this info, so no way for a maro to know it.

Unless you tried getting the corpse owner and then determining what type of spawn that is. (Speculation there ... no clue if it'll work)

Why not examine the corpse and if the corpse is level 55+ and less than 30 minutes odds are it is an NPC or if it is less than 55 and less than 7 minutes odds are it is an NPC yet again.

Of course this is assuming you can actually ID the corpse.

Well yeah I already thought about /considering the corpse and setting an event to trigger, pc corpses will have a line saying something about the rez timer. Was hoping there was some more clean way of doing it though .. Guess not :) thanks guys

Posted in the other thread: $target(hp,cur)

NPC corpses appear to have a zero hp value
PC corpses appear to have a negative hp value

Out of some 30'ish NPC corpses I tested in gfay I saw one npc corpse and one player corpse that both had small but positive values. That's good enough for my macro..
