wtf is CVS doin to my comp?!

Post by Iceassassin » Thu May 08, 2003 8:28 pm

So I got it to d/l after waiting a day. I go to my C:/ and all the files have green mesh over them or a freakin question mark. It looks as if a virus invaded my comp! How do I get that stuff off the files and folders?

Those icon overlays are supposed to only be within the module you downloaded from CVS. I have no idea how you got it on your entire hard drive...

Not Version of CVS, what kind (program) of cvs!
But i think you use TortoiseCVS.
Because 1.2 was last stable, current is 1.3.11 from 05-03-2003.
And because all others cvs implementions are not bound in system (your icons are green and red)

First deinstall TortoiseCVS, then delete CVS-related files like .cvsignore and so on..
You choosed wrong cvs source folder, make a folder like "CVS sources" but never choose C:\ as default folder.

Just read docu.

Be glad that CVS never deletes files which aren't in repo, else your hdd would be clean except SEQ files.

can't use VB either, since the program isn't written in BASIC. it's C++, and with a LOT of tweaking and playing around, you could probably get it to compile in Borland C++..
