I did a /char today and to my surprise it crashed to desktop.... I have ALL macroquest related chatter filtered out. "/filter macros none" Dunno if it's MQ or EQ... or me... but it did it twice in a row... :)

I also have trouble with /charinfo.

A while back NealThorpayt addressed the issue and posted code changes, which were then incorporated into the current CVS and source file. Unfortunately, while those fixes work well for some, for others they cause a crash to desktop. Not sure what is causing the problem.

I've wondered if it isn't a CPU difference... though I'm sure I'll be flamed for suggesting it.

I'm using a Classic Athlon K7-750 (slot A). Would love to find out if the new /charinfo is crashing on AMD's but not on Pentiums...

If you want, send me any changes that you feel should go into the main tree. I'll integrate them and then you can get a fresh CVS tree to work on that doesn't crash.

/char doesn't crash for me running an older celeron

it crashes on me using my dual atholon 2 ghz pc and using my laptop that is a P4

I'd guess it isn't the CPU instruction set then... dunno, will investigate.

i sent him a copy of my eqlib.ccp and header info ... but never heard back from him so not sure what the status of that is.. *shrug* i just work here
