Plaz *IS* alive right?

Post by Grumpy » Mon Feb 10, 2003 3:36 am

No, I'm not going to get on with "so where's the newUI version you promised us weeks ago" thing. Just that we haven't heard from Plaz in like 3 weeks (last post here was 1/11). Be nice if we knew he was alive, well, and hopefully working away and MQ 2.0.

I think he either (a) likes to be elusive or (b) has a life and is silently laughing at how lame we are.

Interesting

Post by Malachi » Sat Feb 22, 2003 3:13 am

Interesting logic there, new guy.

True, in fact the french are not worth the powder it would take to blow them to Germany, but...

The best cheese isn't made in france, or even close to it.

England invented Cheddaring...(interesting process, actually), and the Norwegians/Beligians/Swedes really make some fine stuff too. The Netherlands is in fact the only country in the world in which cows outnumber people, and as such everything DAIRY there is very inexpensive, and cheese sort of started as a way to keep from wasting milk. Milk, cheese, yogurt, all those types of products are super cheap there compared to in the US. Like...50 cents for a gallon of milk, and its REAL milk, GOOD milk. MMM.

So, anyway...sure, the frech suck, but let's not knock the cheese. Even Cammembert is ok....in my book it's alot better than Brie.

Yeah, I'm a nerd, but my favorite part about going to europe is the food, especially the bread, cheese, and beer.

Is it just me or does this whole thing look *really* familiar.

I musta spent way too much time at HackersQuest before Zordon appeared and pulled Ashran's ass out of the fire. But the situation seems really similar, people are reacting EXACTLY the same, and I'm getting a *major* sense of deja vu.

So, with that said, here's what will happen. Plaz will be gone for a very very long time, people will continue to hang around anyway, for the hell of it, some will be die-hard fans and say "hes coming back" or "he's working on it" and defend him to the grave years later, and others will eventually give up and move on, and many will give up and stick around bitching anyway. Then suddenly, way down the line, Plaz will find someone else to take over the project (or because this is opensource, someone will take it up on their own), reinvent it, and Plaz's reputation will be restored even though he really didn't do jack shit himself.

At least that's what HQ tells me will happen. Would be very humorous.

Oh and did I mention the few people who will claim to have a working version themselves and say they don't want to release it for fear of getting it nerfed? a couple will even be convincing and offer doctored proof.

Why is everything that ever happens so damn predictable, maybe this exact thing wont happen, but nothing ever really surprises me anymore. I'm only 18 damnit.

Salutations,
Icon, I totally agree. I have seen these said /click things. I have seen some of them work. no source code is released to help the project along which is actually against the source code liscense agreement...
