Visual Studio 2005 help please

Post by t3hm4d0n3 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 11:00 pm

http://www.macroquest2.com/wiki/index.php/Compilers

has anyone managed to install with visual studio 2005?
if so let me know what you did to get it to work, i would hate to have gone out and bought this damned expensive program for nothing. and i really would hate to have to go and install all that older crap to get this to work.

hopefully there is a library you have to get for it.
thanks much for any feedback.

That thread is in VIP tho, would it be allowed to copy over help to this thread?

I may be wrong, but I think DeeGee was alluding to the fact that you should donate for VIP to get access to the thread. I'm guessing you didn't miss that point, however cleverly you tried to pretend you did in your last post.

The general section is pretty much for do-it-yourselfers now. The handouts stopped coming when people started selling MQ with no regard to the people who make this project possible in the first place. The developers have really outdone themselves with this program, throwing them a few bucks as compensation for all their hard work is the least you can do. If you try to pull the "But I have no money" card, then why are you paying for EQ? I was a non-VIP for a long time, and you'll be hard pressed to find me asking for VIP info in the general forums, but I really didn't know what I was missing until I got VIP access. The answers to everything you seek, and many things you had never dreamed possible in EQ are there for the taking.

Grats on the baby :)

I would suggest sending in a bit of money to take advantage of the VIP forums etc. The information in that post isn't really VIP-like info, but I'm not going to cut+paste someone else's post from VIP without their permission.

Keep an eye here. Allthough no complete VS 2005 how-to is written up it's bound to end up there sooner or later. I'm sticking to VS2003 myself since it works just fine. Somewhere else there i seem to remember talk about official support of VS2005 together with dropping VS6 support "in the future".

Regarding VIP, if you actually went and bought VS2005 as you claim above, you certainly can afford a VIP donation. In the VIP forum you will find much stuff if you are here looking for help.
If you arent much in need of help you can live without VIP, if ur smart enough you can figure out what you need yourself. Actually i just became VIP myself the other month or so, after hanging on the site for a long time.

well i just got the vip thingy.
i used to have my own software company but i had to stop, the pay just isnt regular enough and when i found out a baby was on the way, well i couldnt do it because i never knew when i would be paid.
soo i build custom built houses for rich ppl now :). good job, but i dont get to get on the computer as much and i have fallen behind on the programming bid.
would like to get into it and this is a good chance to just do some small stuff, good community it seems, and i like the programming challenge presented by the game.
but you dont have to get all huffy about the getting vip, your absolutely right if i can get vs2005 i can get a vip membership, i didnt know so thanks for letting me know.
just donated 10 for now because i want to make sure that im gonna get all this bliss thats supposed to come with being a vip member.
