In light of recent events i.e. High Plat macros being released Can you please cripple the next version of MQ to stop theese from working.
1) Change the finditem function to take longer so that it more closely matches the length of time a real person would take to do it.
2) Change the speed that /click works on containers so that also takes approximately the same amount of time a real person would take.
3) Change the way the offsets are stored in the ini file so they cannot easily be used with an old version of MQ (encrypted maybe??)
I realize this may upset tradeskillers but MQ will still be better than manually clicking yourself and all other MQ functions will work fine.
This way we will hopefully rid ourselves of the Idiots using MQ to make Uber plat and drawing attention to use "Normal" users and Verant will probably then leave us alone.

Yikes..not sure whats up..but thats not a bad idea :)
Unfortunately I havent been innocent of not using the tradeskill macros with #turbo..as its helped me get half the tradeskills on my main to mid hundreds in about 45 mins (thats for brewing, fletching, baking, smithing)..
but even if i hadnt accomplished all that..i still think its safer to try and slow down the combine process..although that would sting a little..i think its for the best..and a lot safer for regular mac/combiner scripter people to do their thing without having to worry bout getting in trouble.
Hope everythings arright Fippy...sounds like something nasty mighta fallen on ya

Very close shave. I got a warning. Yes I went and chaged my pants afterwards. No more "Smurf Hut Building" for me, gonna have to fund my smithing the old fashioned way.

Yah..im waiting for it too...although i know i shouldnt..i still run the money making schemes a little..not any big ones..but nonetheless its a money making macro.
Since I havent had any previous problems or trouble with VI...if they catch me, will my first one just be a reprimand of sorts...kickin my char and warning me not to do it anymore?
Or does it depend on the situation?
Just curious thanks! hehe

I think it depends more on the GM. If the GM is an OK person and you have never been in trouble before then you might get off with a warning. if the GM has had a bad day or your a KSing scumbag and use pathing exploits then your toast heeh
I was one of the former. Now I have a warning I am in the same group as the latter and do ya know what it actually feels bad. So bad in fact I am gonna giva away my illegally gained plat to some unsuspecting newbies to help ease my guilt.
I aint gonna stop macroing though, the coding is far to much fun just not gonna use it to do anything daft.

Actually the coding is what got me hooked too..i love it!!! Its nice to see your ideas come to life

None of this dos based C++ coding crap

hehehe
(i hated that course).
But anyway...thats really kewl of you to do that (for the n00bs) hehe.
Actually I can imagine how it'd feel...im afraid of it solely for the fact i'd have a bad record on (my server) **phew almost wrote my server name there rofl..duh**
Just woke up sorry hehe
Anyway..glad you got a second chance tho :)
Guess its back to the old hack and slash mac's huh

Or at least macroing at a decent pace...under 150 combines a minute

Well thats theres quite a few rich noobs running around kelethin on my server now. I didnt go mad and give them all loads of plat, just a few hundred each. All I can say is thank god I don't macro unattended (i.e. sat within a few feet of my PC's) If I couldnt respond to the GM thats buzzed me I would have been suspended I am sure . Also thank god for EQWatcher for reading out tells cause you could easily miss a tell in the merchant spam even sat at the keyboard watching the screen.
I really do think dropping the rate you can do combines with MQ is gonna be the best way to stop all the unattended macro'ers. Plus the source is GPL so anybody smart enough could always speed theres back up again if they are clever enough but the greedy fletchers wouldnt have the skills to do it. I doubt anybody would be stupid enough to release a mod with it speeded back up again in binary form.
Well thats me off my soapbox now.
Gonna see if i can tidy up my Hunter script a bit.

*shrugs* just curious

VI is at fault for not fixing tradeskill bugs; and as such MQ will continue to be public and uncrippled.

Actually I was just going to ask if it was a lot more difficult for GM's to detect whether u r using a macro or not, if you have #turbo off?
I currently use turbo in most all my macros, but am actually kinda even hesitant to use MQ for anything except /targetting now due to the MOTD..apparently they can either check logs to see who's been doing what..but i wondered if u just used the macros at a normal pace,if it'd help keep u inconspicous?
Just curious :)
