Unable to open the .sln file

After setting up and logging into my free VS trial (the link from the e-mail auto logs me in, i click 'connect to server' and the black screen pops up). I try to open the .sln file but it doesn't register as having Visual Studios on my computer so I'm unable to read the file. Any help?

I did, I've done all the steps following the Visual Studios set up one, removing accessories etc. VS does not show up as a program however.
