Since the 06/16 patch my movement keys are messed up when using MQ2. ( and only then ... /unload and everything works fine )
Up arrow = move backward
Right Arrow = turn left
Left Arrow = strafe left.

etc.

Have there been other people with this problem?

obviously I didn't explain well enough. I've updated with each of the new *.zip files as they were released ... but I've had this problem with each different *.zip since 06/16/04.

Well, kind of odd that you are the only one... don't you think?

Did you do a clean compile?

i was having this problem for a while, i re-downloaded and re-compiled and it fixed it (Even though it was the same zip) it was wierd.

little bit more info now that i'm accutally awake:

the release version that was giving me this bug i had compiled for a friend of mine as well, and when i gave him that exe, he had the same bug, and when i downloaded and recompiled it fixed it for him as well; somthing about that exe.. i have it saved if you want it dkaa

I had this problem.

I had to reset all my key bindings. I'm not sure what caused it and I have been unable to reproduce it.

i had it as well, and i use wsad

reset your keys to the same keys, and it'll go away...
(manually, for all your movement keys)

Huh,

I didn't have to do that... wonder what causes it.

Code: Select all

Well, kind of odd that you are the only one... don't you think?
You know others, like me, are experiencing this too, but we were just waiting for someone intelligent to reply on how to fix it. I'm glad you flame someone for such an innocent question.

My up/down strafe me left and right, and my left/right arrows spin me in the wrong direction

Curiosity, download the latest zip and recompile. If you can't recompile the latest zip, then please wait until a new one is published.

MQ IS BROKEN RIGHT NOW. Unless you know enough to fix your own bugs, you should wait until the stable version is released.

Numpad should get you around with this bug. I have it atm also... Am attempting to find a fix, if i do, i'll post or something.

Syd.

Edit:

Ok, the fix for me was to remap completely the up down left right buttons to movement. There are two columns. One labeled Keypress (here after main), other labeled alternate. Default settings for these is the actual arrow keys to be in the "alternate" column, with num2468 in the main. For me, the numpad always worked when i had the bug. So i overwrote main keypad values with corresponding up/down/left/right: making them dupilcate in each column. At this point, controls got way whacky. half working / half doing circles. So replaced the alt column with the numpad values. Any now.... The keypad has the prior properties of arrow keys, but since i use arrow keys (which work now) i dont give a shit. Essentially, the bug seems to exist in the "alternate" movement keys. Hope this helps.

Gah, missed that one change, lmao. My quickie fix is working fine for now since i am too lazy to apply that and recompile. Thanks for pointing it out though. =)

Syd.

Edit: went ahead and did the fix / recompile after a few other keybind issues were found. Fixed em right up. Thanks.
