How to get things fixed in MQ ie How to file a useful bug...

First of all if you are having any issues with MQ make sure to compile a clean build. If that fails to solve your issue...

You need to give us a bit of info in order help fix bugs. Saying it broke really doesn't help much. However saying it broke and this is what happened... can be significantly more useful.

Anatomy of a good bug (or how to submit something that will actually get fixed):

1. System Configuration: Your OS 98/ME/2k/XP
MQ Version
eqgame.ini version

2. Problem : What happened ie how did it break. Did you run a certain macro? If so include the macro that breaks it. This should be as accurate as you can make it.

3. Repro steps: this should be a list of the things that you need to do to make this bug repro.

4. What was your expected result? : This is what you thought should have happened.

5. Comments : This should have a stack trace if available. If you have an idea of why MQ is breaking then this should go here.

Good luck and happy breaking ;)

Please also post your bugs on the forums AND on the sourceforge bug tracker for the MacroQuest project.
