a working buy macro?

i've been messing around with macros for a bit n i cant seem to get a working buy macro up, i get to selecting, opening, and buying but it messess up buying 6 stacks when i asked for 7 or shit like that i should probably put in a check using the /if and stuff any suggestions or examples that i can learn from out therE?

Other websites have been referencing people to here, like rpgexpert.com...stirring a lot of crap on servers where people are macroing but not thinking. All getting caught doing stupid things, etc etc. Not pointing fingers or saying thins about whoevers post this is, but still.

Please please please, don't post a working buy script. If you have one keep it to yourself. As you very well may have noticed we have had a BIG influx of people wanting Smithing macro's Buy macro's Ect ect...

a Buy macro is NOT hard to create. Take the time and personal satisfaction in LEARNING how to create one. trust me its not gunna be a 100 line program. a buy macro should be around 20 to 40 lines.

All you would be doing by posting the code is aiding the people who want to afk macro for cash. If you genuinely NEED one of these buy macro's make one.

What a novel idea he has come up with...Create your own buy script ...Not trying to sound mean, but I've come up with one. (I am not willing to share either, sorry) But through trial and error you'll have mastered your own code and then be able to customize it to what you want, unlike sometimes when you use some one elses code and have no idea what to change if anything at all. Yeah, too many people cruisin the boards now anyways to post a buy script.

But back to what I was saying. I completely agree with Guardian here. I say no one post any scripts up until the "Guest"s and 1 post wonders go away. Sorry to the frequents who just cant get the hang of it.

Serious I found a buy macro and tweaked it so it worked. It is truly rewarding when you can improve/fix/debug/customize/create your own macro. It is just so cool to watch it do its thing and know it is doing it automatically because you made it do so :)

This is not FH! We will not turn away people asking for help, as long as they are making the attempt to learn.

We will NOT start hording macros or code, and develop some version of "trust levels". In the end that will mean that noone will trust anyone.

We will stick to our original plan. An open community, open source, helping each other learn and develop. So long as the request or posted/requested macro does not violate the rules set down for these forums long ago (no blatant hacks, no profit macros, etc.) we will continue to do business as we always have.

Please do not give in to paranoia. EQ has holes, and SOE will fix them as they find them. They always have. But if we let SOE drive us underground in any way, shape, or form this entire project is meaningless.

I wanted to hold off because a buy macro can aide in the creation of a plat macro, and plat macro's are bad Mkay. Not saying don't help the people begging for help. I'm only stating that right now, with MQ and F-H being under the watchful glare of SoE Devs, I don't think posting things that would help in the creation of macro's that plat farm would be good.

But since you gave the go ahead I guess I'll post my macro later.

mckorr you may be a developer and i may just be a nobody but i dont think what your saying is right.

not posting buy macros isnt about trust levels and crap like that...

no one minds HELPING people with their code.

If they would actually bother finding some code and posting it, or hell even writing their own, no one minds helping them fix it.

whats been going on the last couple days is people posting for THREE things

Buy
Combine
Sell

macros

if they would bother to use the search function...
you could:
find ts.mac
as a combine macro
which does everything they would need
they could find a sell macro from bob the builder which would do what they needed

and for a buy macro...
you need to open up readme.html on your MQ not MQ2 release folder and read the little section that says: buyitem!
then mess around with the code for 5 minutes

total time spent DOWNLOADING COMPILING and making these macros is less than ONE HOUR.

THEN you need to find a way to combine these three macros into one

youc ould use calls to included files... but that wouldnt work

so how are you going to do it?!

ask here and people will help you

beg for a cheat, and people will turn you away

i made my own macro and helped someone who PMed make it work for the smithing exploit, first because he bothered to test out and customize the code himself. and second just to see if i could.

so i hope some of the other devs here with admin acccess will delete these threads asking for these macros

i am done for the day :)

as i stated... no one minds helping out if they actually ATTEMPT to do it themselves...
