Ok, I've been talking with Hoshiakari for about 3 weeks...
I bought plane tickets to go meet her next week...
Who thinks I'm nuts?

If you start to think you're crazy just remember this... I met my wife in EQ in 2000. We talked in game a little bit but were never really crazy about each other, actually I'm pretty sure she was scared of me or hated me. A few months later I told her I was quitting EQ and she told me not to. She had me call her, I thought her voice was cute. A couple months later I drove 1000 miles to see her. Less than two months later I moved to where she lived. We got married this year. If either of us is crazy, my friend, it is me

All I can say is, good luck. If you hit it off thats great, and if not then .. well whatever right :)

What are you asking us for if you already bought the tickets?
I say go for it. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. If you don't go, you'll always regret it.
You are crazy, but I think that helps.

I used to be on a chat system called Ddial on Apple iie's at 300bps. We would connect major city hubs in the evening on PcPursuit and I was living in Atlanta at the time. I chatted with a bunch of people in Texas and made two roadtrips out there. The first one was in Dallas and she had lied about her appearance it was an awful experience. The second one was in Houston and we got into a long distance relationship flying back and forth from Atlanta to Houston. After 6 months I moved to Houston, married her and we're still married after 14 years.
You never know what might happen. Go for it.

Hay man if ya both groove well then who cares how you met? In the day and age of the internet its becomming more and more common for online dating/meeting. Solong as she doesnt turn out to be some 300lb shored sea mammal or a psycho....

Unfortunately my first online experience with dating ended up BEING a 300lb shored sea mammal who WAS psycho.
But then I met Jen, and since then, we've been keeping a long-distance relationship for the past year. Back and forth between Tampa and Savannah. We see each other about once a month or so. Pretty soon, when bills get settled and I win my court battle for my daughter, I'll be moving up there and we'll be married by September of 2004. :-)
It CAN work out, if you let it.
