Now is the time for all good MacroQuest users to get out their checkbooks and Donate to the Hard Working Devs. Money is a motivator :) I allways say!

Not terribly. I've never taken a dime from the donations. Not that I've actually earned any of it anyway :P But it certainly doesn't hurt to donate, since many of the other devs spend considerable amounts of time and resources on this project, and seeing your work appreciated is definately a motivating factor.

Personally I do this cause I enjoy it, I get to learn new things, and it seems a more productive use of my time than just playing EQ. As an added bonus I get Valerian yelling at me cause I'm a hack, not a coder :D

Btw, regarding donations, i notice there's only paypal to donate, well quite frankly, im pissed off at paypal cuz i waited amonth for my damn receipt shizt for the account, was too lazy to go get the paper after glancing at it and entered the code twice wrong..ONLY TO HAVE MY ACCOUNT BLOCKED AGAIN..ahhhhh god dammit that pissed me off..

So anyway, moral of the story is, is there any other method of payment?? Like money order or something? Hmm, I am desperate to give away my money and i have nobody i can really give it to lol..

Thanks for any replies (from dev's and others i guess too)

If you really want to donate, here are the best ideas:

1. Write HOW-TOs for newbies
2. Visit the boards frequently and answer questions asked by newbies
3. Test MQ in every way possible and report bugs in detail with examples
4. Take readme.html from the tarball and update it and make it look cool
5. Become a MQ expert and help others write macros and write macros that are requested in the macro request forum.

Those are a few that come to mind. Seriously, the devs mainly just want to be able to add/fix things in the source code...but, are too nice to avoid the newbie questions when they're asked. The best donation that the average person could do would be to become an expert and spend time on the boards helping newbies and taking that out of the hands of the devs.
