You might remember me from a few weeks ago. I came here trying to setup MacroQuest to auto-forage for me, but being the idiot I am, I was unable to set it up.

So life went on.

Note that I am a Ranger. At higher levels, Rangers come to focus on Archery more and more (yes, there is a point to this). Note as well that there is no auto-attack for Archery. So anyway, I discovered that it was possible to setup a gamepad to continuously input "2" for me. Why "2?" That's what number Range Attack is on my hotbuttons.

So needless to say, I soon came to the realization that by simply changing the number to "1," my Forage hotbutton, I would essentially have an auto-forager. I simply push a button on the controller, and it will keep doing it until I push it again.

Problem is, I think this would be rather obvious, from SOE's point-of-view, of what I was doing. I don't know how, but I'm willing to bet that they could figure out that EQ_Player_58219 (made-up number, referring to me) keeps inputting "1" to the EQ Client every 0.20 seconds non-stop. This is what worries me. If I ran this often (I hate foraging for tradeskill components), what would you guys guess my chances are of getting caught? And if caught, what would be the punishment?

exactly how do you plan on DROPPING what you forage with your game pad?

A key being re-sent a lot could also be a cat stepping on your keyboard or you asleep with your head on it. they won't ban you for that.

Unlike Fishing, you can continue to Forage even while you have something on your mouse already (i.e. a foraged item). So, when I come back later, I just have to drop all the items into my inventory and I can sort them out then.

And as for the thing about the cat, I think I'll be using that if they catch me.

Mouse only queues 20, I think, items on your cursor. You'll most likely get error messages after that, or stuff wil be eaten.

with the newly added /autoinventory command, you can set up a hotbutton like
and have it auto drop into inventory

Quick and dirty. Probably need delays in there someplace.

Another trick is to re-map the keys so the movement left/right press a hotkey that does a ability. This is similar to the sence heading trick but ALL hotkey bank will have to have a common hotkey with forage in it.
