Req: Bazaar Mule Macro

Post by Amadeus » Sat Jun 07, 2003 5:35 am

Strange we havn't seen one yet...but a rather involved/cool BazaarMule macro (similar to the coolness of the new druid macro) would be a lot of fun to have. I'm not sure what all I'd want it to do, but I'm sure some of you bazaarites could think of a few features ;)

auto pricing would be nice, maybe also be able to have a list of items you want and automatically buy them if below a certain price.

No....buying things automatically and so forth is out of the scope of MQ currently. I'm talking about being able to go through inventory and announce items for sale on a timer, say thank you to buyers...etc..

Bazaar functions

$bazaar(<item name>,xxx) where xxx is

"price" - average price (based on items [ie if 100 are for sale at 3p from player A and another is sold for 1pp at player B, it will be a little under 3000...]) (returns value in copper...)
"price, average, item" - see above (in cp)
"price, average, player" - in the above example, if only two players had the item, the average would be 2000, not a little under 3000 (in cp)
"price, lowest" - lowest price available for an item (in cp)
"price, highest" - Highest price available for an item (in cp)
"seller" - name of the seller selling the item
"seller,id" - so we can use $spawn(id,xxx) :p
"age" - track the time it took to sell an item based on trader still trading but item is gone fom trader inventory.

also things from $item([pack,]slot, xxx) are usable
returns:

thing its supposed to
-1 if item is not found
-2 if some weird error occurs (i dunno... item has no price? or someting?)

Would be nifty if you could read/write to the bazzar .ini file to change prices on the fly. This might require exiting trader mode and restarting it.

Also would be nice if we could store prices in a historical database for trending data and to spot great deals on items etc.

PS. I don't think auto buying would work due to how hard it would be to move around the bazaar as well as lag issues. If you wanted to buy something you would have to do it yourself.

Actually you could create a series of points at the main corners in bazaar and connect them in a graph data structure then use Dijkstra's Shortest Path Algorithm to find the route to anyone in bazaar by moving to a set of points in succession then finally to your target.

Not to hard to code as well, however much of it would have to be coded in C++, not mq#

I don't like this idea of saying thank you to buyers, and automating the /auz Selling this and that and this ...

My reason, Some jack ass n00b will come up and buy something and you will thank them. They will sit and try to talk with you and get no response... or an auto /afk response... then buy something again and get the exact same ( i guess you could randomize your thank yous )

But the point is I think it would be a little too risky for people to find out.

I agree with DrMadd. I hate people that AFK macro. I have set up some stuff that does the shouts etc.. but I am always around to respond to tells etc. If I get up to go to the bathroom or have a smoke I alway end the macro first. Really you have to end it anyway and edit the macro if you sell something or change a price anyway as its not very smart. Still would like to see the above added to MQ tho as I am a bazaar whore. Heheh

This would be of interest to me as well. It's nice knowing what certain items sell for on your server. I passed on a few items that didn't look that great only to check the bazaar later and see some selling for 20k.

It's probably outside of the MQ scope but something that lists every item for sale along with price would be nice. It just needs to dump it to screen and we could import it into a spreadsheet or database program ourselves.
