Request: /load command

Post by Amadeus » Sat May 17, 2003 3:36 pm

We currently have an /unload command that will unload the MQ dll from memory. Would it be possible to have a /load command so that we could try things, test it, /unload, recompile, /load, etc, without all the need of starting/restarting EQ all the time.

I don't know if it's possible in the first place, and I have no idea how to code it if it is (.dlls are a new world for me)...so, I thought I'd post a request!

to insert a /load command, the dll would have to be loaded in EQ's memory space... so, no. not possible.

You CAN do

/unload
restart a macroquest
zone
and macroquest will be active.

If you have EQ loaded but not MQ you can start MQ then hand a NPC a coin (or do a player trade) to force a save. MQ will become active after the "Yourname has been saved" point (be careful it does a freeze-up of 1-2 sec, at least for me)

I guess you guys all forgot, all you have to do cause macroquest to reload is :

/unload, then right click mq icon in systray, exit it, restart it

then type : /me saved

in game, at least thats the way it always was when Plazmic was around unless the current devs have changed it.

the reason you can do this, or zone or hand an npc a coin is because macroquest pauses at the chat hook when its loaded into eq and waits for the text "saved" or "you have entered" then proceeds to hook the command interpreter and direct x keyboard input routine.
