ISXEQMap

I don't think I am doing anything wrong, but I noticed, as I watched my map the other night, playing with friends, that the map does not seem to update with newly spawned mobs, or maybe it is specific mobs. I don't know.

What I do know is that it was happening in the Outer camp of Valor. I watched Fiends being pulled that never showed on my map, until I unloaded and then loaded the isxeqmap.dll again.

Could someone look into this, please.

Spawns are not updated by the server unless they are "close" to you. There is some algorithm that SoE uses that includes your postition, the direction you are facing, who you have targeted, and the range of the mob which determines when a particular mob gets a position update. The range is fairly short, like 400 or so.

But if he "sees" the spawn moving (especialy if interacting with PCs) in the game world, doesn't that mean the server is sending the spawn info to the client? The map and the game world should match whether it is stale data or newely refreshed. I've noticed that no-update-distance in EQ several times - you "see" a spawn at a distance, run toward it, then it suddenly warps/jumps as the client suddenly get loc info for that spawn. Even when this happens there is still a corresponding indication on the map (up until the client gets the new data, of course) matching what is in the game world.

Just a thought.

They aren't even showing up after they are in camp being killed, which I may not have made clear.

I'm guessing you have some filter blocking them out. Do they show up when you do a /who?

A mob show when I do a "/who"?
I don't recall mobs ever showing on a "/who".

Ah, forgot about that, for one.
Two, my ISXChat window does not come up for some damned reason, and yes I have the dll for it.

The map window is the game map window, and you can't open it at all? Odd.
