I have written this little include file to run a GM in zone check, which will then end your macro and issue several beeps to alert you.
The usage is as follows:
add the #include Gmcheck line to the macro, before the main SUB command.
then add a /call Gmcheck as the first command of your main loop in your macro.
This snippet will detect the GM, and issue 3 beeps, do a screen popup and then end your macro.
Alternatively, if you want to have your toons attempt to camp out, add a /quit line right after the /endmacro line.
Code: Select all
|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|SUB: GM in zone Check
|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub Gmcheck
/if (${Spawn[gm].ID}) {
/beep
/beep
/beep
/echo GM has entered the zone!
/popup A GM has entered the zone, shutting down macros
/endmacro
}
/return

Just to comment here, as on the 100 other GM check threads, GM's can be completely invisible to the EQ client and still do things to try and detect macro's. By the time you can actually see the GM in the zone, it is often to late.
The single best thing you can do to not get banned, is to not use MQ.

As explained several places on these forums yes a GM can completely hide from MQ. If it is a guide they will be visible for a second when they zone in, however long it takes them to hit the hide hotkey. An Admin-GM can zone and remain hidden if they choice and you would never know they are there unless they speak to you or turn hide off.

well isn't that the point for this macro? coz if GM felt ur afk and ur kiting on ur bard and like to chekc if ur there or not. he will send u a tell. and if u stop the macro while ur afk as an example or stop the macro and /exit GM can\t do anythign about it.
on the otherhand if GM keep sendding ur tells for 1 hour and no reply from u and u keep kiting then it means ur simi busted :)

My opinion:
If you run a bard kite macro and are AFK not checking your screen, honestly, you deserve to be banned..
And that applies to like 99% of any macro that lets you interact with the world in general. (especially player casinos and other shitz)

Yes, they can do something. Maybe you don't get it, but I'll try to explain it again...
The GM can watch your character doing the same thing over and over, then for shits and grins he can have the logs of your activities pulled to see what kind of stuff you do, and how repetitive it is, etc. This builds the case for banning you. A GM need NEVER contact you, just watch your actions long enough, as well as verify through the logs activities that point to botting and they can ban you.
I still remember this shit even though I have been absent for about 2 years from these forums and EQ. GM alerts are just a way of telling you you're fucked, if he's there for you.
