Hey guys, IT guy just learning about the existenz of this MacroQuest thing.

I have several 50+chars including a 60wiz who have high tradeskills. Im not a l33ch so im not asking how to program the macros...

Justwant to know which items return the largest profit when sold to vendors. Ive got all the tradeskills so any one is fine.

Hi everyone Loaff is the name. I've been watching the boards for quite sometime. Maqroquest has been a very usefull tool for me and unbelievably I make my own macros. I had to create a login just to reply to this.

manburn55 do you seriously think anyone is going to give you that information. How does anyone know who you are or that you can be trusted with that information. Every last person on here has found out that information on there own. Do your own research, incorrectly preferrably, don't come back here and delete your copy of macroquest and forget it exists.

I realize you have a lot of pent up anger at the people who have misused MacroQuest...

but that is no reason to flame me. Instead of flying off the handle, you could educate someone that such a request isnt the right thing to ask for.

Since I have the tradeskills, I have several ideas as to which ones to do but I naively thought that people here were sharing information. Actually I could have gone to EQTraders and asked the same question without getting all your ATTITUDE.

If you will note my post...I expressed that I didnt want to l33ch. Instead you treat me like a leecher instead of being polite.

Again, I realize that lots of immature people have used these macros in immature ways...which is leading you to HORDE knowledge. (im sure because you think this will protect the use of MQ for future enjoyment)

this leads to the question...what makes you worthy of knowledge and others arent? You dont know me...yet you judge me based you your gripes with others. How do we know that YOU arent one of the IDIOTS that spammed in front of a GM and led to the removal of merchants?

As for not asking for help on how to program macros. thats is what this forum is for. All the help you need in learning how to write macros is right here.

You write a macro to suport your needs. If you feel it will help others and you want to share it then great. if no thats cool too, its your macro.


Since my your own admission your new to the boards, did you not read them first ? If you did how could you possibly draw a conclusion that it is fine to ask about actions which have been clearly stated as being unsuitable to comment on in these forums.

How do you know I can be trusted with the info I have? Well you don't but then I earned it on my own so that question is irrelivant. To more calmly reply if you take the time to read through the boards you would see the attitude people give toward that question. If the information was just handed out everyone would do it and it would get nerfed or more people would get banned. Sure you can go to eqtrader and ask that question but they won't answer either because they dont know. On a second note get a notebook and a pen write down how much it costs you to buy the needed components sell the product configure the profit and there ya go.

Lets go through each point like a 3rd grader.

Point, the first:

Im not a l33ch DOES NOT contradict the the request I made for several reasons.

a) The fact that I said I didnt want to be a leech, shows that I know leeching is bad.
b) The fact that I that I didnt want to be a leech shows that I dont want to be a leech. (Now if you instantly doubt that I really meant what I typed...that means YOU read it with your own issues. I realize that there are people who will misuse the information on these boards, but if you want to have a "community" of people who treat each other with respect, then you dont jump to the conclusion that Im lying. Otherwise you'd take the statement at face value.)
c) Apparently your definition of leeching is different than mine. Present your definition, check to see if it is indeed the valid definition, then check to see if I meet the criteria it requires.

Point, the second:
The fact that I said that Im not asking for help with scripting SHOWS that Ive read these forums. Ive seen with my own eyes EVEN in the forum where people are supposed to be able to request macros from other people they STILL get flamed. A reasonable person should be able to understand that the purpose of me writing that im not asking for help with the programming is to SHOW that I dont want to leech.

Point, the third:
I HAVE read through the boards. Ive seen how pre-disposed some people are to flying off the handle...as well as others who are truly helpful. I learned through the boards how leechers and idiots who dont think of the consequences of their spamming tradeskills to nearby PCs.

Point, the fourth:
Yes I could go ask the question at EQTraders and they WOULD know. To say they wouldnt is saying that a smithing expert doesnt know a hill o beans about smithing...or the pottery guide writer about pottery. Why YOU think a forum about macro programming would know more about tradeskills than a forum DEVOTED to tradeskills is iillogical, to say the least.

Point, the fifth:
My main has been in the game litterally two months after it started, albeit off and on. Though I have very high tradeskills, Im not so much of a jerk to think I know everything. It was just supposed to be a simple question

In the final analysis, this could have been settled a lot better than a flame. Plain and simple. A personal message to my user box...with the info...or a note that says something to the effect of what the flame did. Ever hear of the phrase "take it to tells?" It means that a public forum isnt a place for a fight.

In another location on these boards, I got such a warm response. Its a shame that someone who's only posted once (suspicious) decided to fly off the handle.

Let me make it simple for you since you think it is a debate.

No one on this board is going to give you the data you seek . The people that are hoarding knowledge are doing so because they value that knowledge. No one here knows you and you can type your fingers off trying to convince us how competent and trustworthy you are, but we are not going to care. You can't trust random people on the internet just like you can't trust random people in life.

You keep saying that you can go to a trade skill forum and find out what you need to know from there. WELL FUCKING DO IT THEN.

Figure it out on your own like everyone else did, or don't figure it out at all.

MQ was recently posted on mobhunter.com (http://mobhunter.com/article.jsp?articleid=625208779) AND "sorta" in the game MOTD:

Please be aware that using third party software to automate trade skills or combat is against our policies and will result in action taken against your account, which may include asset removal, account suspension and/or cancellation.

lets put 1 and 1 together:

recent events bringing MQ very public (mobhunter.com) + ingame warning publicly saying action will be taken against your account if your caught using this or alike program.

now some people use the program to work up trade skills.. but NOT to make money. SERU bane quest is an example, having to work your smithing up to 175 or so just for a damn fight aint fun.

some use it help them fight, monks have to click epic while fighting.. it can get tiring going for hours, bards can help them use it for twisting songs, none of it is automated or used when they are not at the computer. its used as a helpful tool. not to make money, not to get levels while at work, not to exploit parts of the game, just to help with some overly tedious things no one likes to have to do just to play the game.

some dont even use it for macroing! just its extra features it adds to EQ.

WE USE IT AS A TOOL. not as a device to get free PP and levels while were at work/sleeping/on the can/etc.

so when you come here asking:

which is ONE OF THE MAIN reasons this program is being criticized. some folks here want to keep MQ so they can continue to use it as a tool. not to exploit the games trade skills to make PP.

bottom line is, you came here asking "what item makes the largest profit from a vendor. i plan to make that item on my level 60 with MQ to make me 50k+ pp so i can twink out my alts or buy some l33t items."

use all those special fonts, use a bit of red color, use any color you want!!, but by saying what you did.. you told us that one of your main intents of using MQ is to make FREE PP.

alot of look down on that, we want to continue to use MQ and when people are goin around using it like that AND posting shit in public, all it does is get us closer and closer possibly not even having MQ anymore.

and who wants to lose MQ? i sure dont.
