"give you right to bitch cause it was a donation saying thanks. by the way if you havent, SEND HIM MONEY
Funny. You should go work for Verant. They tell people to stop bitching and continue to send them money every month for their buggy, PoS Game. >:)

Funny you should mention that. Twice now, I have tried to run MQ with the latest EQ ini file that you have the link pointing to. And both times, about 15 minutes into the game, I would see at the Chat Window: <char> SAVED. As if EQ is normally saving the state of my character to the disk or something. IT is at this VERY Point.. that EQ Freezes up and throws me out of the game and back to the Server Selection screen. Right there is when it happens!

Of course, after throwing MQ out of the Loop and starting EQ back up without it, this no longer occurs and EQ plays normally again. But I thought you might like to know this. ;P

Is it at ALL possible that seeing this message in the Chat Window, somehow falsely triggers MQ to start another copy of itself and hence conflicts with the first copy and BAM!... it dumps? EQ certainly DOES display "<Char> Saved" every 15 minutes or so, and I cannot understand why you state this is no longer done by EQ. I see it right there on the screen. And something about it is causing my copy of MQ to crash the game. Once MQ is not running, this lockup never occurs. Hence I am starting to suspect this as a possible cause.

I beg your pardon, but i Was Not Bitching about it not working.
I was merely stating that I wish Plazmic would get his DSL working, so a new patch to the MQ could be created for running with the NewUI.
As for donating to him, that is my business.

For the help I have received from those who are willing to take the time to actually place the post, I am very grateful for. For the ones who take the time to bitch me out, just because I needed help...then jeez find something new to do with your time, because it simply doesn't faze me. <Besides its bad for YOUR character, and makes you look like an ass>.

Salutations,
well... even if you do bring MQ up and do /em saved. there seems to be problems randomly (or so i've heard) does the random crash happen at the time of saving?

which means this:(as are said in his own words)
Everquest does not save your character to disk as soon as you log in. This is all he stated, not that it doesnt display it at all anymore, just that it doesnt do it as soon as you log in anymore(which, in turn, is what MQ is looking for to make sure you are in the game, I believe).

Anywho, it is a random error, and should not be happening every time you see it, but if it is, try this:
Step 1> Format C:\
Step 2> Re-Install your OS
Step 3> Re-Install your internet service
Step 4> Re-Install EQ
Step 5> Download the MQ release that is available
Step 6> Install MQ(Can be swapped with step 7 if need be)
Step 7> Run Everquest.exe and re-download all of the "new" things Verant has updated since your CDs are going to be many, MANY patches out of date.
Step 8> Try again, and test it 100 times.
Step 9> Come back here with your results, and the steps that may have given you trouble.

Not ALWAYS. But there is a good chance it does, and will at some point. It has been proven time and time again. Interestingly enough, if I immediately go into the TASK Processess Manager... MacroQuest is not listed as a Loaded and Running Process anymore. All I see is EQGAME.EXE listed in the TASK listing. But not MQ.

Also, here is another GUARANTEED way to Crash to the Desktop with MQ and NewUI EQ: Do /where <someone> That is all, you will get a free ride to Lock-up City every time. Even with the newest offsets installed. ;)

Playpal: I am aware of that /where will crash you, it does that with old UI too. Why it does that I have no idea, I doubt it is the offset as it uses the same offset as /target, which works.
