I am not sure then, try posting the problem in the help section. Maybe the developers will know a fix for it.

Some problems...

Post by rettus1 » Fri Sep 03, 2004 7:48 pm

The pottery one worked flawlessly for me =). Im having errors with 3 seperate macros right nowl; Smithing, Fletching, Baking. All were done in Abysmal Sea and started at the correct merchant.

On smithing, there is a wall blocking the pathing. Tried several times.

Fletching and baking work up to the point where the combine is necessary. I have the req items in the last spot. It says slot 8 not open. If I open it manually it does the combine. Any recommondations? Trying for Shawl Quest =)

Which wall are you getting stuck on in the smithing one (be sure you take off any levi and sow type spells)?

Also, it is best if you move the combine container to the last slot on the other 2, try that.

awesome job

Post by trupoet » Sat Sep 04, 2004 3:08 pm

Well I love what you've done with this. Its simply amazing! Originally I had to do all the buying and selling of these kinds of things myself and then get as many of the components as I could into my bags and then run a macro that would do all the combines.

I've so far used baking, pottery, brewing, and fletching...and they'ved worked great.

I had a suggestion for pottery....I remember skilling it up on another char past 188 to like 199 making Casserole Dishes. This required an extra step of making ceramic lining and then firing it. Just something you might want to add to the pottery one to get it even closer...and its still pretty cheap.

Thanks again for the awesome macros. Look forward to seeing the tailoring one!

Yeah, that is what I was going to use to get to 199 actually, but I will post it soon, I was pretty much done with it then I started on the bazaar one I did.

These macros rock, I have used them on 8 of my toons, they really work well. Any way to dontate to you for the hard work? One suggestion on the Smithing Macro. Toons have to walk into the room where the baking and brewing are done. Small toons like dwarfs get stuck pathing over the small table near the door they seem to get hung on it going in and going out. Other then that all the macros run great.

Do you have any plans to do Tailoring, Tinkering or Alchemy?

Question for you override

Post by kyle » Sat Sep 04, 2004 5:38 pm

I know nothing about writing macros so I am trying to learn.

I want to use your buy macro for my mule bazzar toon and have it keep searching for a item I want to buy. The macro at present runs one time and stops. I would like it to close the bazzar window after each search wait 10 mins then search to see if the item is there again and keep doing this until it finds the item. Kind of like camping the bazaar for me.

I modified your code to loop and to pause but how do I get it to close the bazzar window so that it will reopen in 10mins with new venders and items updated.

Sub Main

/declare ItemToBuy string inner
/declare HighestPriceToPay int inner
/declare TotalYouWant int inner

/varset ItemToBuy "Ornate Boot Mold"
/varset HighestPriceToPay 65000p
/varset TotalYouWant 2

:Rerun
/call BazaarBuy ${ItemToBuy} ${HighestPriceToPay} ${TotalYouWant}

/delay 300s

/goto :Rerun
/return

As a side note this would be an awsome mule macro. Think of this if you added the ability to go back into trader mode so you could be selling stuff while you wait for your item to appear in the bazaar.. This way you could be in trader mode selling and if your item appears it stops selling.. goes out an buys your item then returns to your spot and begins reselling again.. That would be cool huh...

Some comments:

The fletching macro works very well, BUT if you switch to a Planar Fletching Kit, it breaks on the cleanpack functions, seems not to quote the variable properly. The value of the variable seems set to "Planar" instead of "Planar Fletching Kit" I haven't had the time to learn the language yet. I will give it more thought tomorrow perhaps.

Hmm, well, I'd love to see these macros not be Abysmal Sea specific. I know they aren't AS specific per se, but mostly they are difficult to adapt for other zones. It would be nice if they were more adaptable. If you post what kinds of info you'd need for includes, I can research whatever is needed, like locations of vendors, etc...

Also, what is the deal with donations? ;) Where do we send them to?

Thanks for the macros.

Kyle: I will probably be making one for tinkering and alchemy after I finsihed the others. And my tailoring one is actually almost finsihed, I have been very busy so I havent had a chance to finish it up. But on you next post about the bazzarbuy function. I am not at home, I am actually out of state till monday, but right off hand I see a problem. This:

Code: Select all

/varset HighestPriceToPay 65000p
Needs to be changed to:

Code: Select all

/varset HighestPriceToPay 65000000
The last 3 zero's are for the gold, silver, and copper. You have to add those in.

wasted: I know that is a problem with the planar kits, I have been telling everyone to use the regular ones for now till I get to that fix, it is on my TODO list. I will probably get that one done when I get home on monday. Also, you can make the macros non-absymal sea but some items that I use may not be in like PoK and the pathing would be a lot longer then it is now. But, I will get back to you if you would like to help with the other zones. I would need the pathing between the vendors that has the comonpents. But I will do that after I get my other macros done.

Everyone that wants to donate: I am glad to see people really like my work to the point they would like to donate. At the moment my paypal account is messed up due to someone that bought something from me was involved in fraud so they froze all the accounts that he sent money to till they investigate. Hopefully, that will not take too long to resolve. But I will let you know.

Don't count on it. Your best bet is to get a new bank acct to attach to a new paypal acct with a new email addy. Paypal's fraud provention is notoriously overzealous and underresponsive, and people have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to them in this way.

Yeah, I have tried that and they froze the new one saying that my other account is under investigation and that one will have to clear that up before they open a new one. Which is total bull, but I can't do anything about it.

Aha! I actually need a little guidance here :) I don't know what you'd need to add to includes. I am thinking of a bunch of unclude files in your "common" includes. Perhaps a generic check in each macro to figure out what zone the character is in and use the paths and recipes pre-programmed into the includes per zone. The idea would require some work and I am even willing to do it, but I need to know what it is... Perhaps some disclaimers and advice as comments in the include files, much as you have now, about "perhaps PoK is not the best for this skill... we recommend Halas instead" or something to that effect. What do you think?

Well, I can tell you exactly what I need when you go to do it, mostly the locs to between vendors that sell the items I need. But I have tried to make these macros so everyone, no matter what faction you have with people, could do it. Halas probably wouldn't work because of this. The only other place would be PoK, and that involves a lot of extra walking. It is possible though, but I will be working on it later. Once I get the other stuff done.
