Account communication while boxing

Post by Qirx » Mon May 30, 2005 3:36 pm

What do you guys use for secure communication between your accounts when boxing? I was using the IRC plugin when I only had 4 accounts, but I recently PL'd 2 more toons to 70 so have 6 accounts now. All the IRC servers I've found will only support 4 connections from the same IP so I can't use IRC for all 6 accounts.

Any recommendations for an IRC server that will allow more than 4 connections? Is there a better method than IRC?

Run your own irc server and set the connections to what ever you want.
There's plenty of windows daemons out there to to do it, and it doesn't have to be a server that can support an irc network.

What irc network do you use?

I have not verified, but our connection to the Internet is NAT'd so everyone looks like their src ip is the same, and I know at least 10 people have been on freenode in the same channel with no problems.

Read what we said again...
Run your own IRC server on your own computer.
That puts you in charge, you set the limits, and bots hvae instant communication, even if your connection to eq is lagging.

check out the mq2GVars plugin I just posted in VIP::plugins. I hope to accomplish what you're looking for, if not now then down the line
