You know they aren't trying when they don't even report the error correctly.

This illustrates how difficult it is for the noob, particuarly one not experianced in C programming. It is not immediately obvious to the non programmer that an #include statement requires an additional file of that file_name, which is NOT included already in the macro.

And while there are some excellant tutorials here, they do assume certain basic knowledge that ios not always present.

Among opther things, I have not found any documents that CLEARLY differentiate between macros, plugins, include files and ini files, how to handle them, as far as compiling, and just file organization.

I. myself, struggled with this. I believe that many of the noob questions are generated by NOT understanding that each file type is handled differently.

I commiserate with all the noobs who are so lost, they cant even figure out WHAT to search for, or how to ask the question they really need to ask

Mystic, one of the things that goes with use of MQ2 and such is the idea that you either have some idea of how things work, or can figure it out.

One reason that things are not spelled out, as you would for a child, is that it helps reduce the number of people using it. Many of those who cannot figure things out are the same who really should not be using this program.

Those who really want to learn will.

Then you shouldn't be running MQ.

Ok I am going to throw out a bone here and help you out..

First off you have a .mac file.. That should be in your dir\release\macros directory. But I take it since you are getting that error that you didnt look further. Sooooo let me do the search for you...

Clicking search http://www.macroquest2.com/phpBB2/search.php
Entering spellcasting.int
Found nothing... Strange.. Betting you typed in the error wrong... Ohh spellcast.inc...

Intresting about half way down I find this

http://www.macroquest2.com/phpBB2/viewt ... llcast+inc

I clicked on it and BAM!

Ok smart ass off.. Take that link and paste it into the same place as your nbh.mac file and then try again..

But just a heads up.. I hope you edited your nbh.mac file.. As you need to change some things in it :)

Hope that helps..

If you can't find it odds are you didn't bother looking. -- My Mom.
Why do I bother, your just stupid. -- My Mom.
Hmm maybe mom didnt love me?

Years ago, the MQ community decided that it was not gonna help stupid people use MQ. It was decided that stupid people using MQ was bad. MQ is a powerful tool and not for everyone. Therefore stupid people are not to be helped, but discouraged from using MQ.

Fluffy the Fag sends hate PMs to guys like me for flaming and upholding this principle.

Fluffy the Fag is helping stupid people and now we have lots and lots of stupid people using MQ2.

Thanks Fluffy. Asshole.

I really don't think that lack of knowledge in a particular area qualifies as general stupidity. I suppose "stupid with computers" is a valid statement, but that's not what's being said. There's probably a good portion of people that post and get attacked here that are quite intelligent, but fail to present themselves well (hi how r u doing?? etc.) and aren't privy to the way it works around here. Interraction in little cliques such as the one we have here is different than a lot of other situations. In a good majority of things in life, if you don't know how to do something, you ask for help. They're just following the procedure they're used to. Calling a person stupid is a pretty bold statement, and entirely over-used. While you may be correct in some very few instances, you're most-likely entirely wrong in the majority of cases.
