Help please - asking for your indulgence

I followed the readme file of Macroquest and still can't get Macroquest to work.

I did the following:
1) got IRC-20021024 version and installed Perl
2) changed the client version to match the date for eqgame.exe
3) ran MQ
4) ran Everquest

I tested the MQ funtion by trying the Gate.mac by typing the folloing in the chat window:
/macro Gate.mac
/macro Gate
Neither worked. I get the invalid command error. What am I doing wrong?

I am running Win98SE using the old UI

Update your eqgame.ini with the 10-31 offsets

And you MUST install ActivePerl, as i found out.

As soon as I installed it, MQ was working perfectly.

For security, you can even tell the installer not to assign Perl scripts to be ran, so you can't run a script on accident, or unknowingly.

Thanks for the responses. I got the new off-sets and it works! :D /face command turn me towards the NPC. I tried the Fish.mac and it just spams me with invalid target and other junk. When I tried Gate.mac I crash onto the desk top in a very unhealthy fashion, ie bad resolution, color and no task bar.

Let me know if I missing something simple. I will try again tonight with skill macros.
