Just because I haven't seen an update to the original, here's the listing from above incorporating all of the comments. And with this, /target works just fine. If I see tha the original poster edits then I'll remove this to prevent confusion.

Not working for me, hmm I'm using the new version of MQ and new offsets. Has anyone confirmed them?

/click left equip <slot> also seems to crash the client

(fish.mac will do it)

Better double check a few of those offsets

Need some help

Post by larz » Sat Oct 26, 2002 5:29 pm

Any help resolving my situation is appreciated.

I've dowloaded latest MQ and loaded the latest offsets.

When I log into EQ, it doesn't even say that Macroquest is active.

So, when i attempt a macro, it obviously doesn't even recognize the commands.

I havn't had this problem before. Usually, I can at least get MQ active.

I looked and do have the perl file in my MQ folder.

Any suggestions as to what is going wrong.

This problem didn't surface til after this latest patch.

Larz

QUOTE:

H'lo, I'm the architect of your suffering -- the Perl addon is my baby.

You are having problems for this reason:

The newest releases of MQ include my addon for the Perl scripting language (which is a very powerful and complicated scripting language that will let you do MANY things that the built-in MacroQuest scripting won't let you do). However, to do this, a DLL which includes the Perl scripting "engine" must be available on your system. By default, the MacroQuest install includes this DLL (Perl56.DLL).

The problem is, this is the Windows NT/2000/XP version of the DLL and will NOT work properly on 9x. Unfortunately, I don't really believe that Win9x is a fabulous platform for doing this kind of stuff and I have no plans to include the 9x version of Perl56.DLL in my updates. If Plaz decides to put the DLL in the drop he publishes, that's his business...

The workaround is, as stated, to download the Win 9x (also supports WinME I believe) version of ActiveState's Perl. You actually only really need the one file: Perl56.DLL. If someone wants to be proactive and publish that DLL on an FTP or web site (which may or may not violate ActiveState's license agreement), I'm sure the rest of the 9x community would love you.

But in the interim, I have a suggestion you probably won't like: if your hardware will support it, upgrade to XP. You'll be so much happier -- trust me :)

Ok so where can I get the file for ME?

I installed the perl msi, then copied the perl56.dll from the perl install to the MQ dir, but that wan't enough (before rebooting) I then rebooted and MQ worked with the above offsets (well referancing equipment slots causes EQ to lock up so an offset is probably wrong)

So it I am guessing you have to install pearl 5.6 for 9x/ME. Copy the perl56.dll file to the MQ dir overwriting the one there. Finally reboot windows.
