Grease to Grease...

Post by Stix2basics » Thu Aug 12, 2004 1:40 pm

Ok.

First, you guys are terrific.

All the tradeskill things are wonderful.

Now, a request/challenge :)

Clockwork Grease. Stackable foraged component for tinkering/fletching combines. (Used in a combine to make a subcomponent for all planar cams)

Jar Of Clockwork Grease is the result of combining 2 Clockwork Grease into a Small Clay Jar, which is consumed, yielding 1 stackable Jar of Clockwork Grease.

Small Clay Jar is a container, result of quality firing sheet, unfired small container. Firing sheet is stackable, and buyable. Unfired Small Container is UNSTACKABLE. This combine is done in a Kiln.

Unfired Small Container is the result of block of clay, small jar sketch, water flask on a pottery wheel. Block of CLay, Small jar Sketch and Water Flask are all buyable and stackable. This combine is done on a pottery wheel.

So... to recap...

Block of Clay, Small Jar Sketch, Water Flask (all stackable, all buyable) combine in Pottery Wheel. Result in UNSTACKABLE Unfired Small Containers.

Unfired Small Container, Quality Firing Sheet (QFS Buyable, Stackable) combine in Kiln to create 2 slot container Small Clay Jar.

Now take 2 Clockwork Grease, 1 in each slot of Small Clay Jar, and hit that container's combine button and get Jar Of Clockwork Grease (Stackable)

Imagine for example if you had to do this for a 10 slot bag full of grease...
You see you need to make 200 containers unstackable items, that turn into containers...

Maybe start with a stack of each component. Make 20 unfired containers, go to the kiln, make a container, drop in an empty inventory spot, drop in 2 grease, combine and put in bag. Repeat 20 times, and start over?

Good luck on finding someone to write all this for you. In the mean time I suggest you take a look at other tradeskill macros and learn the ropes a bit. Then start to write your own code and when you run into specific problems ask for more help here.

I have begun looking...
I don't have much programming experience at all however...

I did not howver think the request was any more frivelous than some of the requests here, just a request for a macro that would save my poor bard running wrists as it were...

This is a pretty big macro you're asking for. Multiple tradeskills, multiple routes... buying/selling... That's a lot to do. Normally I'd be all about doing this for you.. but to be honest, finding it all in one macro may be hard to do.

My recommendation is that you break it into parts. Find a macro that will buy all of the pottery stuff and make a bunch of pots. Find another macro that will fire the pots. Find a third that will do the final combine. Then manually run each of them a bunch of times.

Unless you plan on trying to do this while afk. That's a no-no.

It's quite alright to request stuff like this but it is a huge macro and what i am saying is that no one is going to do it for you. I had no programing exp. either and it really isn't hard to learn this stuff. There are a ton of examples from people in the macro depot and when you run into problems just ask in the help forum.

Easy start for tradeskill combines might be the included kiola.mac. Check it out as well as the other tradeskill macros, great way to learn. I'm just a slow learner on this stuff.
Fuck writing MQ2 macros. Go with IS scripts; IS Rules!

There are 2 written macros for this in the old macro forum, they just need to be converted.

http://macroquest2.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5719

Anyone have the time and mind converting one of these please?
