New GM invis, Crackdown on Sullon Zek

Post by No_news » Wed Jul 14, 2004 12:58 am

Some people think it's ok to use MQ in PvP, some don't. Either way, I'm just reporting what's going on:

A few days ago GM Jamlamin broadcast that things on SZ are going to change. He started by nerfing many names, and is now targeting MQ users. Reports include him suspending people for using minor things like the /face command, to major cheats like warp (which is not directly related to MQ, but neither are bad names.) The point is he's cracking down.

Also, there have been instances of GM Jamlamin in zones while invisible to MQ2 users. No PC model, no sign with MQ's /who, and still monitoring and physically interacting with players (by use of corpses). I didn't believe it at first, I figured his name must have been missed in a crowded zone /who, but no. Even with just 4 players in the zone, he was still invisible.

I do believe his point was that though they have had the ability forever it is now that he has become ALOT more active about it. Not everyone is chicken little.

Sounds like someone has a new stick. That said, it's not likely a new invis. But even if it was... so what? (rhetorical)

1. SoE GMs have always had the stealth invis, ALWAYS.

2. Making and using a macro that is blatently a macro is stuipid no matter what server. No person is capable of facing a mob dead on 100% of the time, not even 90%, unless it is rooted and not moving from its place.

3. Straight from the first page of the Readme:
The use of MacroQuest2 is a violation of the EULA of EverQuest.

This means that if you do not use MacroQuest2 sensibly, you risk your character being suspended for a period of time, or in extreme cases, having your character permanently banned.
Which Lax and the other devs have so eloquently reminded us time and again...

If you're scared of getting banned you shouldn't be using this program.
Use of this program is voluntary. No one is pointing a gun at your head and forcing you to use it. Do NOT expect to be compensated for using it when/if you get banned.

That alll said, keep playing and have fun with MQ. Just consider modifying your macro's so that they are not so bot-ish.

Not only that but AssJammer aka Jamlamin is one of the biggest fucktard GM's the game has ever seen. I've butted heads with him on more than one occasion as a guild officer. My favorite is having some EP gods kill him while we was standing there ranting and raving about xlocing our healers and shit if we didn't stop fighting the mob. I hate this piece of shit GM.

But..rant off...just be careful using MQ2 and don't do things that are blatently obvious to anyone.

One thing we all can agree on with or without MQ2 is that he is a piece of shit.

Not only do GMs hav stealth invis, but I might point out that they also have the ability to change the tag of what zone they're located in. I had GM-Dannkurt standing over my head in a LDoN zone and when I did a /who on him it said he was in Neriak!! So don't think you're safe, ever.

GM's can easily spawn a second "them" heh. Sullonites are rarely surprised by Jamlamin. One day he brought a GM-Dev into BoT to catch a few hackers training <Hate> lol.
