Was woundering if someone could help me make a macro/plugin so that when im LFG in game I can go to watch TV or something and hear a beep when someone sends a tell.
The reasoning for wanting this macro would be that its just so damn borring sitting around LFG looking at a wall or whatever. Would be sweet to be able to go LFG then go do whatever and when someone sends you a tell you could hear it and come back to the computer to see whats going on.
BTW I would do this myself but I have the coding ability of a flea.

I'd tell you to go RTFM but... they took that out.
You want to setup a #chat tell with a /beep command.
Code: Select all
#Turbo 1
#Chat tell
Sub Main
:Loop
/doevents
/goto Loop
/return
Sub Event_Chat
/beep
/return

Thanks for the help, the macro seems to working pretty good so far except the beep is pretty hard to hear.
I was woundering if there is a way to make this macro play a wav files of some sort instead of the beep. I think it would be easier to hear that then.
Thanks in advance,

Make a playlist with the EQ mp3 player.
Code: Select all
#Turbo 1
#Chat tell
Sub Main
/mp3 clear
/mp3 add c:\MQ\playlist.m3u
:Loop
/doevents
/goto Loop
/return
Sub Event_Chat
/mp3 play 1
/return

Code: Select all
#Chat tell
Sub Main
:Loop
/doevents
/delay 1
/goto Loop
/return
Sub Event_Chat
/exec "C:\Spawn.MP3" bg
/return
I play with EQ's sound disabled via the ini, and if you disable it that way, you can't use the MP3 player... so, this is another option if you just wanted to execute an MP3 or something in the default system MP3 player.

Fucking Hell the next thing we're going to have is a plugin and a forum thread "Ring Tones" for MQ2.

Regarding the Mp3's, is there a way for me to make the only sounds out of EQ the MP3? I don't want to hear ghetto soundtracks or autoattack music, nor Oof Uff sounds while being attacked.
