.S3D files

Post by wilso132 » Tue May 11, 2004 2:17 am

Is there any simple program to open/save .s3d files? I searched the web and the smallest thing I could find was a 450 mb 3d program.

i would wonder if you find a 3D programm that opens the s3d files directly. If you want to get into the files use EQInside from Hackersquest.

I knew about that program, but it doesn't do what I want. I really would like to be able to open and edit, then save it again. Anyone know of a program that does that?

I'm guessing s3d is a proprietary format for everquest and am assuming it's going to be very hard to find a program that can read that format, other then EQInsider.

Downloaded EQInsider since I hadn't used it in about a year and it will do what I need, thanks so much :)

I've seen a picture (sorry, can't remember where) of SOE designers using 3DS-Max for their work, and this program (quite large, but full featured) works primarily with .3ds files. Is it possible SOE is just renaming .3ds to obscure the format a little?

These files are a modded version of a 3d studio max format. SOE has a very specific plugin for their own format so people cant as easly rip the zone files apart.

You can with this http://developer.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO ... ion_plugin plugin for painshop/photoshop strip the graphics out of zones. I have done so and altered them and been able to view the changes in game. All i did was tag a wall in poea but I wasnt going for an item removal.
