MQ2 Map

Post by Zeus » Sat May 01, 2004 1:02 pm

CTD while zoning

Code: Select all

[MQ2]mq2map->SetGameState(3)
First-chance exception at 0x015a2eec (MQ2Map.dll) in eqgame.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x104fe044.

Code: Select all

	MQ2Map.dll!MapClear()  Line 267	C++
 	MQ2Main.dll!PluginsSetGameState(unsigned long GameState=)  Line 394	C++
 	000144b6()

In MQ2MapApi.cpp

Code: Select all

if (pActiveSpawns->pSpawn->Type==FAKESPAWNTYPE) // fake!
	delete pActiveSpawns->pSpawn;

Catched the exception at the if line.

EDIT: Commented the 2 lines out to test, seems it "fixes" it although I dont know if that has any sort of secondary effects.

secondary effects of not freeing memory, you mean like memory leaks? ;)

I'll look through mq2map again and see if i can find the cause of this problem.

Yeah lazy me didn't even read past the If hehe didn't saw it was a delete. Btw that was with the 28b zip, and it happened every single time today when I logged didn't seem to be a random thing, if that extra data helps any.

you can stop crashes for now by turning off ground spawns on your map
