Post by Goofmester1 » Tue Dec 30, 2003 12:14 pm

I noticed after compiling this that the MQ window now shows up on character select screen also..

I am sure there is reason just noticed the change and am curious

Oops meant it to be in general not bug..
Ok I see the note in changes.txt but was wondering if could get more info than this..
MQ2ChatWnd updated to use a custom window, and allows typing in edit box. Also shows up at char select to annoy you all.

Every new feature annoys the piss out of everyone so I just thought I'd throw in that comment

Just curious, what's the benefit of the new custom window? I don't notice any functional differences except Escape closes it now.

This may just be but I use the hell out of the escape key (to close windows), and would really prefer than escape NOT close the MQ window (it didn't use to), can we have it back like it was?

As for having it on character select and typable, that's great, I can actually enter MQ commands in the MQ window now.

One other thing I've noticed, every time I recompile MQ, all the custom settings (location, background color) gets reset, where is this custom window info stored, so I can just copy that file between compiles?

those settings are stored in MQ2ChatWnd.ini... Another question though.. I have yet to get the chat font size to work for the MQ2 window, and like grumpy, I hate that the window closes every time I hit escape.. = \

No I'm going to piss everyone off by leaving the ESC key able to close the MQ2 window.

Also, unless you delete your entire Release directory every time you compile, your settings dont get wiped...
i dont know why you would delete everything..

I don't delete the dir, I rename it to MQ2_Old, and install the new version in MQ2, that way, if I have problems with the new version, I have the old version to fall back on. Plus I don't have any mixing of old/new files.

I just copy over my /Release/Macros dir and I'm gtg. Now I'll copy over MacroQuest.ini and my windows will be in place as well. Thanks.
